When is your birthday
1. 教材分析
1．通过学习本节内容，学生能够交流简单的个人信息
2. 一年的十二个月既是课标中规定的词汇，所涉及的话题也是与学生个人密切相关的；本节内容主要教授关于一年的十二个月；本节内容是这一单元的第一课时，其主要目的是通过创设Toby生日的情景及歌谣的形式帮助学生初步感知理解学习内容，为后面继续学习four seasons 奠定基础
2. 学情分析
1. 四年级的学生正处于从形象思维到抽象逻辑思维的过渡，抽象思维逐渐成为一种重要的思维方式，思维的敏捷性及逻辑性不断提高，是培养学习能力的关键时期，而这节课中，有十二个单词是新授词汇，课容量有些多，要他们在短短的40分钟接受是有一定难度的。
2. 通过一年的学习磨合，学生有一定的基础，仍然保持着较高的学习英语的兴趣，师生之间也已经有了一定的默契。
3. 教学目标(含重、难点)
1. 能够听说月份单词 January February March April May June July August
September October November December
2. 能够听说句子 When is Toby’s birthday
3. 听懂并唱会歌谣 When is Toby’s birthday
4. 重点：一年十二个月份的表述及发音
5. 难点：January February August的发音
4. 教学过程
Warm up
1 Teacher draw a birthday cake on the blackboard and play the birthday song to create the situation
2 ask ss to turn to page 8 and observe the picture ,the teacher encourages ss to put forward questions according to the picture
通过以上热身，为学生创设关于生日的情境，通过观察图片及自己提问题锻炼学生的观察能力及思维。
Presentation
Now let’s solve the problems
Step1:
T: What’s the date today (今天什么日子？）
SS: Teachers’ Day
T: OK,Teachers’Day is in September（教师边说边指向日历九月并板书在黑板上)
T:出示中国国旗及游客出游的图片 Next month ,we will have a holiday in October ，课件出示October并板书在September下方。O sounds ...老师张圆嘴，并作出手势。指导学生发音
T:用简短的时间介绍关于Thanksgiving Day这个节日的文化知识，并板书November划分单词音节让学生自己尝试读出，学生已经在三年级学过December所以他们自己可以读出。把9-12月写成一列，让学生自己找出共同点。并指导学生继续朗读复习。
Step2
T: OK,everyone ,what’s your favourite festival
S: Children’s Day
T: show out their photo on Children’s Day. Children’s Day is in June
June ,read after me .板书出来June .
T: June has a little brother .His name is July .means .....希望学生能够自己猜出词义。如果学生仍然有发音问题，老师可板书出juice这个单词，比较记忆。六七月啊，有个大姐姐，her name is May .
Step3
draw a girl on the blackboard and say this is a girl ,her name is August .now let’s say hello to August .In Chinese ,it means 八月。Ask one line ss to say hello to August .
T : so ,when is Toby’s birthday August Or Who can guess
Ss would answer and when they guess we reviewed these words again .老师大概提问三位同学后，交给稍微好一点的学生充当老师提问，教师则退到幕后。
Step4
Ask ss to turn to page 8.and listen to the tape.Before they listen ,teacher asks ss to learn the January February March and April by themselves .
Work in groups to discuss
Listen again and ask better ones to teach others
Step 5
Dear ss ,now I am month mum .I have four kids to play the game of 萝卜蹲。They are September ,February ,January and August .Who will be the four kids

Listen to the tape and learn the chant .we can practice ss by kinds of ways .师生对唱，男女对唱，组间对唱等等。

6.教学反思
1. 新课程改革以来，我们一直强调老师尽量退出舞台，把课堂教给学生，但在农村小学这种翻转课堂还是很难实现的，在本课中，教师尽量安排让我生自己学，小组学的环节，尽量体现学生的主体地位，老师是引导者和组织者。另外，课标中规定，小学英语最主要的任务是激发学生对英语的学习兴趣，所以，尽量采取多的方式呈现不同的生词。
2．这节课目标基本落实，对于十二个月的表达，学生基本掌握。但是对于句型when is Toby’s birthday 学生掌握的不是很好。 所以，做了些调整。在学生感知了句子结构之后，教师可以用事先收集的学生的生日来反复提问及操练此结构。
3 这次培训感触最深的就是要对教材进行分析。以前自己拿到教材后，从来不分析教材，该上哪一课就上哪里。缺乏对整个单元或者是整本书的分析。通过培训后明白，教材分析能够为自己更好的设定教学目标及教学活动而奠定基础。
自己在平时教学过程中，总是忽视对学生进行评价。教学评价没有做到三多，尤其是评价主体没有多元化，自己在今后的教学中也应该继续努力。
