一、教材内容分析
本课是人教PEP 小学四年级Unit 3 My friends第一课时的内容，共有六个课时。通过对形容词的学习和句型的运用，会描述人物性格和外貌特征，并向他人介绍自己的朋友，懂得珍惜友情。
二、学生情况分析
经过三年级的英语学习，学生们掌握了一定的英语语言知识，初步形成了一定的听，说，读，写能力。学生在三年级下册学习过形容词tall，short，fat，thin，懂得对动物，人物的描述。学过的句型“What's your name My name is ...”，经常会运用在日常对话，有一定的语感，在中文表达也有男(他)女(她)的表达，基于该基础，学习询问他 / 她名字的问候及相应的回答，拓展更多的形容词对人物的描述。
三、教学目标
(一) 知识目标
1. 能听懂，会说，认读句型：What's his / her name His / her name is...
He's / She's...
2. 能听，说，认读单词：strong，friendly
(二) 能力目标
1. 能够在情景下运用句型：What's his / her name His / her name is...
2. 能运用 strong，friendly等形容词描述人物性格和外貌特征。
(三) 情感目标
懂得珍惜友情。
四、教学重难点
strong 中 str 的发音，his 中s发z的发音。
五、教学过程：
Step 1 Warm up

Step 2 Lead-in
1. Sing a song
歌曲视频播放，为后面提问环节作铺垫，生唱 "What's his name " 班里任意一个学生起立并回答。
2. Watch video
师就视频动画中出现的人物进行提问，"What's his name " 生回答: "His name is…” 再进入学生实际生活场景问答。
3. PPT展示图片，生抽取其中一张，用所学形容词描述，其他学生猜是哪位明星。He is short. He is funny……
引入下一环节：John and his friends.

请学生扮演课本人物的角色，进行对话。
