Let's suppose it is a common day of 2060. Of course, things have changed and life is very different.
Trips to the Moon are being made every day. Taking a holiday on the Moon today is as easy as taking a holiday in Europe in 2016. At a number of scenic spots (风景胜地) on the Moon, many hotels have been built. In order that everyone can enjoy the beautiful scenery on the Moon, every room has at least one picture window.
What are people eating now People are still eating food. But many foods now come in pill form, and the food that goes into the pill comes mainly from green plants.
Farming, of course, is very highly developed. Very few people have to work on the farm. It is possible to run the farm by just using a few computers.

In the future, people may travel to Mars (火星) by water-powered spaceship! Today's spaceships are fine for getting things into space, but they are not so good at travelling long distances. These spaceships burn chemical fuels (燃料), and they are very expensive. Scientists say that a water-powered spaceship could make the trip to Mars much cheaper. The idea is just in the planning stages now, but scientists think such a spaceship could be developed soon.
The key to the water-powered spaceship is the engine (发动机). Regular engines push spaceships by burning fuel. The water engine will use steam, created by solar panels (太阳能电池板) that heat water to a high temperature. Of course, the spaceship will have to carry a lot of water for the long trip to Mars. Today's spaceships could not carry that much water. But scientists think that a spaceship blown up like a balloon will be able to.
One US company has already developed a spaceship like this. These spaceships are made of a strong material. Two of them have already been sent up into space, using rockets and then later filled with air. "Balloon" spaceships could be very large and carry enough water for a long trip. With the "Balloon" spaceships, enough water could be carried to power the engines and grow food during the trip. And the people on the spaceship might even get to take a hot bath!
Scientists say the biggest advantage of such a spaceship would be cost. The "Balloon" spaceship uses water to push it through space and costs about one thirtieth of a normal spaceship. Such savings naturally encourage continued research into balloon spaceships and water engines. If these scientists are correct, we may soon be on our way to Mars in a spaceship powered by water.
( )29. Which sentence best describes the main idea of the passage above
A. The key to the water-powered spaceship is the engine.
B. In the future, people may travel to Mars by water-powered spaceship.
C. One US company has already developed a spaceship like this.
D. Scientists say the biggest advantage of such a spaceship would be cost.
( )30.What do you think is omitted (省略) at the end of the underlined sentence
A. use steam B. push spaceships
C. heat water D. carry that much water
( )31.The underlined "it" in the last paragraph refers to _______ .
A. the planet Mars B. water as "fuel"
C. the "Balloon" spaceship D. a normal spaceship
( )32.On which website can we probably read this passage
A. www.freedictionary.com/power

From tiny seeds (种子), great discoveries grow. A mini-garden carried on China's Chang'e 4 moon lander recently became home to the first plant to grow on another planet.
This is yet another success for Chang'e 4. On January 3, the probe (航天探测器) became the first lander to touch down on the far side of the moon. This is the unknown face of the moon that is always looking away from us, so we never see it from down here on the earth. Although it is often regarded as the dark side of the moon, the far side actually gets as much sunshine as the near side. For example, when all we can see is a silver of a new moon, the far side of the moon is in full sunlight.
Part of Chang'e 4's mission (使命) is to see how a moon base could be built for humans, including exploring (探索) whether humans could grow food and other plants there. Chang'e 4 carried a mini-garden with air, water and soil with seeds planted in it. When plants shoot on the earth, their stems grow away from the gravity (the force that keeps your feet on the ground), and so they always shoot upwards. The moon's gravity is a sixth as strong as the earth's, so Chang'e 4's experiment was a test: would the earth plants know which way was up on the moon Four days after landing, a tiny cotton shoot showed that they do.
Night has now fallen on the far side of the moon; sunlight will not return until the start of February. As a result, the cotton shoots died. Besides the darkness, the plants can't stand the cold (it can drop to -170 ℃ on the moon at night). However, the experiment is a success, since it has proved that it is possible for plants to grow in space.
( )33.The text is mainly about .
A. another success for Chang'e 4
B. Chang'e 4 moon lander
C. tiny seeds in the soil
D. the steps of an experiment
( )34.Which of the following is TRUE about Chang'e 4
A. It carried a mini-garden.
B. It landed on the near side of the moon.
C. It explored the moon base.
D. It found plants on the moon.
( )35.From the text we can know that .
A. the far side of the moon gets less sunlight
B. we can see the far side of the moon from the earth
C. the stems fail to grow away from the earth's gravity
D. the earth plants know the way to grow on the moon
( )36.What can be inferred (推理) from the text
A. Plants can be grown on the moon soon.
B. It is perfect to do experiments on the moon.
C. The cotton shoots can last 4 days on the moon.
D. We can see a new moon at the start of February.
四、任务型阅读(共10小题,计10分)
  请认真阅读下面短文,并根据所读内容在文章后表格中的空格里填入一个最恰当的单词。注意:每个空格只填1个单词。
Cars powered by gasoline were sold for many years before hybrid vehicles that use gasoline, electricity and solar energy. Car companies are now making cars that are fully powered by electricity only. How do these electric cars measure up to (符合标准)traditional gasoline cars
Electric and gasoline vehicles look similar on the outside. They have very different parts under their hoods, though.Electric cars have one main moving part:the motor. But gas cars literally have hundreds of parts, often requiring frequent maintenance(保养). Having fewer parts makes the electric car cheaper to maintain and less likely to have mechanical problems.
Electric vehicles are energy-efficient, also making them cheaper to operate. It costs about $1.00 to travel 43 miles in an electric car, which is a clear contrast to a gas car, which costs about $1.25 to go 18 miles. Basically, an electric car can go twice as far as a gas car for the same price.
Electric vehicles do not have tailpipe emissions, making them more friendly to the environment, too.
While some details make electric cars attractive, other details aren't as favorable. For example, some electric cars can travel only 60 to 120 miles on a full charge(充电). Most gas cars can drive hundreds of miles on a full tank.
An electric car has to stop more often to get recharged. Therefore, a gas car would be a better option(选择)if you have to drive far.And electric cars aren't as convenient(方便的)to power up as gas cars are. There are plenty of gas stations, but not many charging stations for electric cars. Then, once an electric car reaches a charging station, it can take up to six hours to charge.
There are certainly benefits to both electric cars and gasoline cars. It's good to know that there is an option.
Electric cars vs Gasoline cars
Introduction With the appearance of electric cars, people wonder whether electric cars can achieve the 37. standards as gasoline cars.
Similarity Electric cars and gasoline cars look similar on the outside.
38. Electric cars Having fewer parts reduces the 39. _______ of their maintenance and the 40. of having mechanical problems. 41. with gasoline cars, electric cars are more energy-saving, making them cheaper to operate. Having no tailpipe emissions, they are more environmentally 42. . It 43. more time for electric cars to get charged. Gasoline cars Gas cars can cover a 44. distance on a full tank than electric cars on a full charge. Gas cars are more 45. to power up.
Conclusion Both electric cars and gasoline cars have their own benefits, which provides people with a 46. .

Life on Mars
Life on Mars is different from that on the Earth. Is it good or bad Daniel and his classmates have discussed it recently. Some students think it is better to live on Mars than on the Earth because life on Mars is more interesting and more comfortable than that on the Earth. We can go to online schools instead of real ones. We can also have more space. We have robots at home and they can do work for us.
However, other students have different ideas about living on Mars. There are some disadvantages. We will not be used to living there, so we may get ill. And it's very far from the Earth. There is no food, water or oxygen on Mars. Maybe we will meet aliens.
I think travelling to Mars is very interesting and exciting, but if you get ill easily or can't get used to it, do not move to Mars. Besides, Mars is an unknown world to us, so we should think more about the disadvantages.
