英语中,连词是连接单词、短语或者句子的一种虚词,在句中不单独做任何成分。并列连词可以用来表示并列关系、转折关系、选择关系或因果关系等。
1.and
1)并列连词and意为“和,又”,表示并列关系,常用来连接表示对等成分的单词、短语或者句子,表示意思的顺延或增补。
I went to the supermarket and bought some vegetables this morning.
Her uncle gave her a new bike as her birthday present and she liked it very much.
2) and用作并列连词有多重含义,除了表示并列关系外,还可以表示目的(and之后)和条件(and之前)等关系。例如:
Come and see my family.来见见我家人。
Be careful, and you will make fewer mistakes.
2.or
1)用在选择疑问句中连结被选择的对象,意为“或者,还是”。
Is he a doctor or a teacher 他是医生还是教师?
2)用于否定句中连结并列成分,表示“和,与”之意。例如:
There isn't any air or water on the moon.
He hasn't got any brothers or sisters.
3) 用于句型“祈使句+or+陈述句”中,表示在以祈使句为条件下的相反假设,意为“否则,要不然”。例如:
Work hard,or you will fall behind. =If you don’t work hard, you will fall behind.
4)用于连结并列成份,表示不确切、模糊的陈述。例如:
This story happened five or six years ago.
--Is the street straight --More or less.
She will find that she was wrong sooner or later.
4.but的用法
并列连词but意为“但是”,表示转折关系,所连接的成分意思相反或相对。
Our school is small but beautiful.我们学校虽然小但漂亮。
The car is very old but it runs very fast.虽然小汽车旧了,但跑得很快。
5.so的用法
并列连词so表示“因此、所以”之意,常用来连接两个简单句,这两个简单句有意思上的因果关系。和从属连词because(因为)不能一起连用。
Everyone in the town knew him ,so we had no trouble finding his house.
6. both…and… ...和…都… 作为关联并列连词,它通常应连接两个相同性质的句子成分,但有时后一成分可能省略与前一成分相同的词。另外,若连接两个成分作主语,谓语总是用复数。

7. either…or…要么……要么
通常应连接两个相同性质的句子成分,但有时后一成分可能省略与前一成分相同的词。若连接两个成分作主语,其谓语通常与靠近的主语保持一致。如:
You can either have tea or coffee.

8.neither…nor… …和…都不… ,用法同 7
Mary neither likes maths nor (likes) history.
Neither Jim nor Jack was at home.
9. not only…but also… “不仅……而且……”;其中的also有时可以省略。用法同7

We know that in Western astrology(占星术), there are 12 star signs. Astrology tells the relationship between the positions and the movements of the stars and their influence on people and events. The horoscope is a description of your characteristics and the things that will happen to you, according to the positions of the stars when you were born. The 12 star signs are decided by your date of birth.

本单元主要介绍略读法。通常当读者需要在较短的时间内阅读大量材料时会使用这种方法。略读可以让读者迅速了解文章大意,其速度比正常阅读速度快很多。比如阅读报纸时,读者很少逐字阅读,相反,他们会先快速浏览以获悉当天的主要新闻。当对某一篇新闻特别感兴趣时,才会停下来仔细阅读。阅读杂志、商业和旅游指南时,也可运用略读法了解大意,再对想要阅读的篇目进行详读。

The size and shape (外形) of your ears show your character (性格) more than any other part of the face. Other parts of the face change shapes as we get older,but ears do not change their shapes.
