After graduation, Zhang Tian applied for and became a volunteer teacher in a village school. He imagined all sorts of 1. exciting (excite) things about living independently and teaching in a village. 2.However, not everything lived up to his hopes. The school was much 3.smaller(small) than he had expected. The playground got 4. dusty (dust) on windy days and muddy on rainy days. Living in the village was also more5.challenging (challenge)than he had thought. But he decided to stay and deal with the challenges.
