Analysis of the Teaching Material 本节课是该单元的第二个课时,时该单元的第一篇阅读文本。包括3a-3c以及语法内容。活动3a-3c让学生通过阅读了解一位性格腼腆的亚裔女孩变为明星的故事,在拓展语言知识、发展技能及阅读策略的同时,向学生传递出关注自我发展和自我完善的重要性。语法突出学习used to句型结构,包括其肯定、否定和疑问结构及其应答。
Analysis of the Students 通过上节课的学习,学生已经学会了用目标语言used to描述自己和他人过去经常做的事情,也会对人物的外貌和性格的变化做出描述,基本达成语言目标,这是学习本课时的优势。但是学生对于情感目标“事物在不断变化,养成积极向上的心态”可能理解得还不够透彻,本节课在进一步拓展语言知识,发展语言技能的同时,可以着重向学生进行情感目标渗透。

Step 5Language Points Explanation 1. used to “过去常常”, 表过去的习惯 used to + 动词原形2. be used to “习惯于” be used to + 名词、代词或动名词3. changed: v. 变化,改变 n. 变化,改变; 替换,更换;4. take up 开始;从事;接纳;占据;继续做take up doing sth. 开始干某事 5.deal with 意为“对付;处理, 常与how连用, 强调处理问题的方式、方法。do with常与 what 连用, 侧重于对某事物的利用。6.dare用作情态动词, 一般用于疑问句、否定句或条件句, 或与 hardly, never, no one, nobody 等连用。有时态变化,但没有人称形式的变化, 其后接动词原形。构成疑问句和否定句时不用助动词do7.prepare 在此处用作及物动词,意为“准备;预备”。 常用搭配:prepare sth. “准备某物”。 prepare sb sth. 表示“给某人准备某物”也可用prepare sth for sb. prepare sb. for sth 表示“使某人对所准备”prepare to do sth. 表示“准备做某事”。 将知识点做好笔记 将本课重点汇总系统的进行讲解和分析,结合典例,帮助学生形成语言体系。

Teaching Reflection: 亮点
本课时包括文章阅读和语法聚焦两部分内容。在对阅读部分处理时大多采用任务型教学法,通过给学生设置问题,让他们通过阅读来解决,在学习巩固目标语言的同时完成对文章的理解。语法聚焦部分采用小组合作学习方法,让学生观察句子,小组讨论目标语言的用法,这样学生们在以后的练习中印象会更加深刻。
有待改进 1.学生英语水平有差异,在阅读方面表现更为明显。教师应给予更多、高效的阅读方法指导,并在今后的教学过程中开展相应的补充性阅读,以尽快平衡或者逐步消除存在的差异。
2.应该教会学生如何将阅读策略执行应用在实际的阅读过程中,而不是单纯、孤立地停留在了解这一理论根据的层面上。
