As a boy growing up in India, I had longed to travel abroad. I used to listen to the stories my father told me about his stay in Canada and tours of Europe in the 1970s, with great interest.
My big moment finally came in the summer of 1998 when I was able to accompany my parents to Europe, where my father was to attend a meeting. We planned to travel to Belgium, the Netherlands and West Germany.
Even today I have clear memories of going to Mumbai Airport at night all excited about finally going abroad. I had heard several great things about Lufthansa till then but now I finally got to experience them first hand, during the flight to Frankfurt. We flew business class and even today I can remember the excellent service by the Lufthansa crew (全体机组人员). The flight was really smooth and thoroughly enjoyable, even for someone like me, who is especially afraid of flying.
After spending almost two weeks in Europe, we took the Lufthansa airport express from Düsseldorf to Frankfurt Airport for our return. What a journey that was! All along the Rhine, it was simply an unforgettable experience. I had a sad feeling on the flight back to Mumbai as it marked the end of a wonderful vacation, but the Lufthansa crew members were able to change it into a most enjoyable experience yet again, with the quality of their service.
Being the first airline to take me abroad, Lufthansa will always hold a special place in my heart. Even today, I continue to enjoy flights on Lufthansa and simply cannot dream of choosing any other airline. Flying, in general, for me, has always been a terrible and painful experience. Flying on Lufthansa, however, is something I will always look forward to.

Many students have to live with roommates when going to school or university. Having roommates can be one of the best experiences, or one of the worst. 1 Follow these tips to avoid the common mistakes that can make roommate relationships bad.
Talk things out. 2 If something happens, sit down with your roommates and have a face-to-face conversation. Complaining about your roommates behind their backs creates nothing but awkward situations and unhappiness.
3 Some roommates become best friends, and some don’t. Don’t put pressure on yourself or your roommates to reach this level, especially when you first meet. Remember, you are trying to make new friends, not scare your roommates away. And if your roommates don’t end up being your best friends, there is no need to worry about it.
Keep clean. 4 But at least being considerate with where you put your own stuff will help you avoid arguments.
Ask before you take. This applies to food, clothes, supplies and anything else that you don’t own. 5 Even if you both agree to share everything, you should still ask first.
A. Communication is of importance.
B. Don’t expect roommates to be best friends.
C. Choosing a friendly roommate is very important.
D. Show your roommates that you have respect for their belongings.
E. You don’t need to keep the room clean and organized all the time.
