Topic Unit 4 I used to be afraid of the dark. Period IV Section B(1a~1e)
Analysis of the Teaching Material 本节课是Section B的第一课时,是一节听说课,在前面课时的基础上语言运用难度有所提高,在话题的基础上进行的延伸和拓展,由描述人物性格、外貌变化转向讨论人物行为习惯、爱好的改变。在语言上,该部分除了进一步巩固所学重点语言内容外,还复习巩固了有关行为习惯及爱好的短语。1a-1b是词汇教学,帮助学生学习新单词,巩固词汇和句型,并为接下来的听力活动做准备。1c和1d的听力内容为话题,展示了一男孩和女孩的对话谈论过去和现在的变化,让学生进一步体会目标语言在真实语境中的运用。1d是听力之后一个对话表演活动,学生在听力练习的基础上谈变化及其看法,把听到的信息转换成自己的话再表述出来。学生需要运用本单元的目标句型组织自己的对话。综上所述,本课在本单元具有承上启下的作用。本节课的教学设计的指导思想是把学生作为学习和运用语言的主体,围绕知识和技能的综合提高来开展活动。教师需运用多种训练方式使学生把听到、读到的语言信息转换为他们能说、能写的语言素材,对于学生能力的提升起着非常重要的作用。
Analysis of the Students 经过Section A的学习,学生已经学习了运用used to结构描述同学曾经的性格特点和相貌,并且了解了used to结构的陈述句、疑问句及其简短答语。有了一定的语言学习能力与语言感知能力。本节课依旧运用used to结构来谈论人物行为习惯和爱好的改变,对于这个话题,学生已经有了一定的知识积累,教学设计因紧密联系学生生活实际,有利于学生乐于学习和运用,要鼓励学生勇敢表达,进行反复大量的操练达到掌握目标语言的目的,逐步养成良好的学习习惯。

Step 1Lead-in 1.Let some Ss talk about which things they used to be afraid of and which things they are still afraid of. A: I used to be afraid of the dark. I’m still afraid of the dark.B: I used to be afraid of giving a speech in public. I’m still afraid of giving a speech in public.2. T: Show some pictures of the school activities, such as having P.E class, having music class, eating ice-cream and so on. 3. Talk about the activities you used to like or dislike very much. 大屏幕展示几张照片,引导学生们来描述对比过去和现在的爱好有无变化。出示关于课后服务的图片,童年玩游戏图片,观察图片与同伴讨论并描述人物。请几个同学回答,并且让其他的学生做补充。 利用对话帮助学生复习used to结构。
