I used to hate my mother because she worked a lot and didn’t spend much time with me. Then one Friday morning I took part in a three-day self-help program for teenagers. Whether you believe it or not, that weekend changed my life.
About 100 other teenagers were there. During the first two days I met a lot of great people. I was glad because I made so many friends there.
On Sunday, the leader did an interesting exercise called “Chocolate or Toys”. He asked a girl which she liked better, chocolate or toys. She chose chocolate. Then he asked her to choose again between chocolate and chocolate. Of course, she didn’t have a choice.
This exercise told us that sometimes we don’t have a choice in life, and that sometimes we have to accept something, rather than complaining(抱怨).
A girl stood up and started talking about her mom who was a drug addict(吸毒者) and how much she hated her mother.
“I want a new mom,” she cried.
“Unluckily, you can’t have one,” the leader replied. “You have to accept the mother that you have.”

Qingming, literally (字面上) means “clear and bright”. It is one of the 24 seasonal division points in China. After the festival, the temperature rises and rainfall increases. And then farmers begin to grow crops. Qingming Festival falls on April 4 this year.
As a festival, Qingming is believed to have a history of about 2,500 years. The most important tradition of Qingming is to honor ancestors and remember the dead family members. So Qingming is also called Tomb-Sweeping Day. When sweeping the graves, people pray, clean the tombstones and burn offerings, usually paper money, paper clothes, paper houses and now even a paper phone.
Lots of ancient poets expressed their sad feelings with words. One of the most famous poems describing the festival was the poem Qingming by Du Mu of the Tang Dynasty as follows: A drizzling rain falls like tears on the Mourning Day; The mourner’s heart is going to break on his way. “Where can a wine shop be found to drown my sad hours ” A cowherd points to a cot amid apricot flowers.

On March 22nd, World Water Day is a day to celebrate water and make a difference for people who do not have the water they need.
The truth about the world
The truth is that we are lucky enough to have clean water whenever we want, but this is not the case for many people around the world. Did you know that around 750 million people do not have clean water to drink That’s around 1 in 10 people in the world.
But what does this mean
If we drink dirty water, we can catch diseases from the bacteria (细菌) and become ill. Every year over 500,000 children die from dirty water. That’s around 1,400 children every day! In Ghana, 85% of all disease are from dirty water, and in Nicaragua, 75% of the people don’t have clean drinking water. Also, in some countries children walk many kilometers every day to get water, they can’t go to school so they don’t learn how to read and write and don’t get an education.
Water for everyone
In 1993 the United Nations decided that March 22nd is the World Day for Water. On this day every year, countries around the world hold events to educate people about the problems of dirty water. People organize events to raise money.
For World Water Day, some people in the UK walk, run or cycle 10 km, others climb mountains or even jump from an aeroplane and skydive to the ground. At one school, children between the ages of 10 and 15 walk 6 km with 6 litres of water, so they can see how it feels to walk along distance carrying heavy bottles of water. People give them money to do these things and all the money helps get clean water to as many people as possible around the world.

On October 31st, 2015, the official Xinhua news agency reported that China would allow two children for every couple. That meant that the country's one-child policy came to an end.
To control the population growth, China started a policy of one child per couple in the 1970s. Why does China decide to relax the policy now
In fact, China began relaxing the policy in January, 2014, allowing couples to have a second baby if the mother or father was an only child. The change was thought as a major liberalization (解放) of the family planning of over thirty years. But new figures (数据) in January, 2015 suggested that fewer people than expected would like to have a second baby. Health officials said that there were about 11 million couples under the new policy. However, only 1 million couples applied (申请) to have a second child. Some couples said, “Two kids Thanks but no.” The influence of one-child policy seems hard to go in a short time.
China's government has said that China will become the country with the most old people in the world in just 15 years, with more than 400 million people over the age of 60. And in the one-child families, when the only child grows up and gets married to another only child, they two have to take care of two old couples, the stress seems really heavy. To solve the problem of the aging population, one-child policy isn’t suitable any more, and two-child policy is needed and necessary.
