应用文参考范文:
Dear Peter,
In reply to your asking about the activity “Green School, We Are in Action”, I am writing to share some relevant details with you.
Aiming to make our school more attractive and create a better environment, the Students’ Union organized the activity, which took place last Saturday afternoon. Approximately 200 students actively participated in it, some digging, some planting and others watering. Five hundred trees were planted in our school as scheduled.
Exhausted as we were, we were delighted. Not only did the activity offer an opportunity to promote our awareness of labor and cooperation, but it enabled us to build a green school together.
Yours,
Li Hua

【答案】As Grady got close to the stream, an adorable bear cub caught his eye. Though Grady didn’t like animals, he couldn’t resist such a lovely bear cub measuring no more than two feet tall with a cute face. It was playing pretty joyfully at the edge of the stream. So absorbed was the bear cub in playing that it wasn’t aware that someone was approaching. Driven by curiosity, Grady walked on tiptoe, moving closer to have a look at it. Suddenly he heard a sound behind him.
Turning around, he saw an angry bear moving swiftly towards him. Shocked and dumb, Grady was rooted onto the ground for seconds, and then dashed to their camp desperately, shouting for help in the meantime. Fortunately, Grady’s father heard the shout in time to come to his assistance. To their surprise, realizing the danger was away, the furry giant stopped chasing and returned to the stream, picking up her baby, and holding it in arms tightly. In the distance, attracted by the noise, Jared and his mother were trying to take a photo of the bear cub and its mother.

第一部分 听力
第一节
Text 1
W: Do you think I should bring a coat to the concert I don’t want to get cold while we are waiting in line.
M: I don’t think so. It’s not so cold outside now. Moreover, there is nowhere to put it once we get inside.
Text 2
W: Mike, you look upset. What are you reading about on the Internet
M: I was exhausted from my maths homework, so I decided to surf the Internet to relax. Unfortunately, the news is so depressing. An earthquake happened in the southern part of our country yesterday and about thirty people have been killed.
Text 3
M: Tonight is a party night! What drinks do you think we need
W: Well, not everyone wants to drink beer. Make sure there are some soft drinks and juice. Nothing is more refreshing than iced drinks on such hot days.
Text 4
M: Hi, Jane. I heard you’ve just returned from a tour of China. Did you get a chance to visit the Great Wall
W: Yes I did. It would be a shame for anyone visiting China not to climb it.
Text 5
M: Here comes the last course! Shall I help you with the dish
W: Thank you, but I’ll have some soup instead. I’m supposed to be on a diet.
M: OK. Should we tip later What do you think
W: I think so. The food here is delicious and the service is pretty good.
第二节
Text 6
M: Hello, Ruth. This is David. I’m calling to ask if you would like to come to my birthday party tomorrow night.
W: I really want to go, but when will it begin
M: At 6: 30 p.m. at Youyi Restaurant.
W: I’m sorry. I have to go to Renming Hospital with my parents to visit my grandmother, and I won’t get back until 8 o’ clock. What a pity!
M: It doesn’t matter. Please help give my regards to your grandmother.
W: I will. Happy birthday to you, David.
听第7段材料,回答第8、9题。
Text 7
M: Hi, Susan. Where did you go just now
W: Hi, Peter. I just went to the theater to see the play we talked about yesterday.
M: How did you like it
W: I wasn’t attracted by the plot. The clothing the actress wore was very common, but the music was beautiful. All in all, it’s probably more suitable for children.
M: How much are the tickets I’d like to go to see it with my two children tomorrow.
W: 12 dollars for an adult and half of that for a child.
听第8段材料,回答第10至12题。
Text 8
M: Good morning, Katherine, so good to see you again. Do you jog every day
W: Almost. I spend about two hours exercising every day. And I like many kinds of sports, such as swimming and running, but I like doing yoga best.
M: No wonder you look so energetic. Can you play tennis How about going to play tennis with me this afternoon
W: Well, I can play, but I have a really busy day today. First of all, I have to go shopping. We don’t have anything to eat at home. After lunch, I’m going to drive my son to the stadium for a basketball game.
M: Oh, your son also loves sports, right
W: Yes. He likes playing basketball very much and spends a lot of time on it. But I’m afraid it will affect his study.
M: Well, I think a strong body is very important both to his study and his future success. You can teach him some ways to balance his hobbies and study.
W: You are quite right. Thank you for your suggestions.
听第9段材料,回答第13至16题。
Text 9
M: I enjoy coming to your store, Jessica. It is interesting to see you at work. You look very professional.
W: Thanks, Lee. I’ve been working here since I was sixteen, so I’ve learned a lot.
M: I hope you won’t think I am rude if I ask you something. I just don’t understand why you work here. After all, your parents make plenty of money.
W: Sure, Mom and Dad can give me everything I need, but I want to become more independent. My parents also think it’s good for me and they give me a lot of support.
M: Then how do you handle the money you earn Do you give it to your parents, or spend it yourself
W: Well, I am saving most of the money for my college tuition, and sometimes I buy clothes or pay for some of my hobbies, like skiing classes.
M: You seem to have learned how to spend your money wisely. That’s not easy for an eighteen-year-old girl. But do you think the work affects your study
W: I had a little trouble at first but I learned to get organized. I do a lot of studying at school between classes, and I get up pretty early. In fact, my grades are getting better and better now.
M: You’ve almost convinced me, and it seems to go along with your general philosophy of independence.

Text 10
W: According to some research, pollution inside homes and other buildings kills more than 4 million people each year. Many people die as a result of breathing smoke or cooking over wood-fired or coal-fired stoves. One way to reduce the number of deaths is through cooking equipment powered by the sun. Crosby, a solar power expert in a South African company, invented a solar cooker called “Sol-4”. The “Sol-4” works by reflecting light from the sun off large mirrors. The mirrors direct the light at a cooking pan. Then the light heats the pan with solar energy. Within two minutes, the pan is hot enough to cook sausages or onions. Around just four minutes, water can be boiled. That is as fast as cooking with natural gas or electricity. The cooker is also much friendlier than other models because people do not have to stand in the sun to use it. People can prepare meals without having to collect firewood or spend money on coal. At present, the cooker only works when the sun is shining, but engineers are working on a way to make it usable without sunlight.
