Jack: Wow! Look at the carrots. They are big! They are not so big in Canada.

Some like carrots, others like cabbage means people like different things.

take... to... 把……带到……
e.g. My father often takes me to the park on Sundays.
我父亲经常在周日带我去公园。
My mother took me there last Sunday.
上周日我妈妈带我去了那儿。
take... to... 表示将某人或某物带到某地。当地点是副词here,there,home等时,介词to 省略。

potato n. 土豆,为可数名词,其复数形式是在词尾加-es。

sweet /swi t/ adj. 甜的
e.g. The watermelon is very sweet.

No sweet without sweat.
先苦后甜。
sweet 也可以作名词,意为“糖果,甜点”。作“糖果”讲时,是可数名词,复数为sweets;作“甜点”讲时,是不可数名词。
