Language point 1
I have been sick for two days.我已经病了两周了。
句子中for短语表示动作延续多长时间，for后面的宾语为时间段。在与for +时间段的句子中，一定用延续性动词，句子生病表示延续性的应该用be sick，所以用have been sick，不能用短暂性动词fall ill。
e.g. My son has been sick for a week.
我儿子已经生病一周了。

医生要求我这周在家休息。
ask在这里意为“要求；请求”，ask sb. to do sth.意为“让某人去做某事”，其否定形式是ask sb. not to do sth.，意为“让某人不去做某事”。常用短语ask for意为“请求”。
e.g. He asked us to wait for him at the gate. 他要求我们在门口等他。
e.g. I asked them not to talk in class. 我让他们不要在课堂上说话。

I came to school because I didn’t want to miss my favourite class. 我到学校是因为我不想错过我最喜欢的课程。
①because表示必然的因果关系,语气较强,通常放在主句之后,若需强调则放在主句之前。because通常用来回答why提出的问题。
②favourite 作形容词，用于修饰名词，意为“最喜爱的”。
e.g. Danny’s favourite subject is English.
丹尼最喜欢的科目是英语。
e.g. He is called Mitch, because his name is Mitchell...人们叫他米奇，因为他大名叫米切尔。

seem为连系动词,意为“好像,似乎,看来”,常见的用法是后接形容词作表语。
seem to do sth.表示“似乎做某事”。
e.g. He seems very angry.他好像非常生气。

convenient意为“方便的”。表示“如果你方便的话”用if it is convenient for you,不能用if you are convenient。

“It’s a date. ”意为“就这么说定了”。date作名词时常意为“日期;约会”。
