“May I see your card,Jenny?” asks Brian. Jenny passes him her card. Brian reads,“Happy Birthday,Li Ming! From your friend,Jenny.”
“What did you write in yours,Danny?” asks Jenny. “Happy Birthday to my best Chinese friend,Li Ming. Best wishes to you on your thirteenth birthday. Remember me when you wear my gift! Your friend,Danny.”
Danny and Jenny put the presents and cards into abox. Brian closes the box with tape. “There!” he says. “Now we can post it!”

“Not yet!” says Danny. He writes Li Ming's address on the top of the box. “There! All ready!”
“Wait! We need stamps!” says Jenny. She goes to look for stamps,but she has no luck. “Come on. Let's go to the post office. We can get some stamps there,and then mail Li Ming's present.”
Oh,no! It's one of those words again! Jenny mails things,but you post them,Brian!
They mean the same e on,let's go to the post office.

1)make sth. for sb.=make sb. sth.
2)made+宾语+省略to的不定式/形容词/介词短语。
e.g. She made coffee for us all. =She made us all coffee. 她给我们大家冲了咖啡。

1)pass sb. sth.=pass sth. to sb.意为“把某物递给某人”
2)pass作动词,还表示“走过,经过”,相当于go past, walk past或go by。
***在英语中,某些及物动词可跟双宾语这一类动词有:bring, give, pass, tell, show, read, leave, teach, buy, make, get, sing等。
e.g. Pass that book over. 请把那本书递过来。

wish作动词表示“希望”,常用三个结构:
(1) wish to do sth. (2) wish sb. to do sth. (3) wish+that从句
wish作名词表示“希望,愿望”,用作复数wishes,表示“祝愿,好意”。向人表达祝愿时用to;向节日致意时用for。
e.g.Best wishes to you!美好的祝愿送给你!
Good wishes for the New Year.祝你新年快乐。
I wish you to write to me soon.我希望你能很快给我写信。
Best wishes to you on your thirteenth birthday. 最美好的祝福送给你的第十三个生日。

【辨析】hope和wish
hope 和wish 均表示“希望,想”,后面都可以加不定式做宾语。其区别在于:
1)wish +宾语+ to do, 表示“希望某人做某事”,hope 不能这样用。
2)hope +for +名词, 表示“可能实现的希望”。
wish +for +名词, 表示“无法实现的愿望”。
3)hope +that 从句, 表示“希望”。
wish +that 从句, 表示 “愿望”,常用虚拟语气,指不太可能实现的愿望或与事实相反。
4)wish 可跟双宾语,表示祝福。

wear作动词,表示“穿着,戴着”。
e.g. He is wearing a pair of sun glasses.
他戴着一幅太阳镜。
【辨析】put on, wear, be in和dress
1)put on指“穿、带”,强调动作。
e.g. Put on your shoes.穿上你的鞋子。

2)wear和be in都强调状态,后接表示衣服或颜色的词。
e.g. He often wears a gray hat.
他经常戴一顶灰色的帽子。
3)dress作动词,意为“给……穿衣服”,后常接表示人的名词、代词或反身代词。

yet用于否定句中,意思是“还,仍旧”,在现在完成时的句子中,already常用于肯定句中,yet常用于否定句和疑问句中。
e.g. I didn’t receive a letter from him yet. 我没有收到过他的信。
e.g. We got there early but Mike had already left. 我们及早到了那里,但是迈克已经离开了。

1) ready adj. 准备好的,
be ready for sth. =get ready for sth.
为……做好准备
e.g. Are you ready for class 准备好上课了吗?
be ready to do sth.=get ready to do sth.
准备好做某事
e.g. Are you ready to order 准备好点餐了吗?
2) adj. 现成的
e.g. I have no ready answer to the question. 我没有现成的答案。
