1) 阅读短文,获得相关信息,提高自己的综合阅读能力并且能复述本篇文章。
2)指导学生建构 Mind map,增强学生的注意力、记忆力,启迪学生思维,培养学生的联想力和创造力。
3.情感目标:培养自己热心公益事业,爱护动物的优良品质。
(二)教学方法:
1.利用图片信息猜测文章主要内容。
2.泛读和精读结合。
3. 情景教学法;任务型教学法。

Watch a video about a guide dog to help students understand the special relationship and emotion between the blind and the guide dogs. Discuss in pairs then answer the questions:
1.What kind of dog is it
2.What do you think of the dog
[设计意图]文化背景知识的突破。在课前先播放一段关于导盲犬的视频,让学生充分感知导盲犬这一文中将要出现的角色。通过导盲犬而引出关爱残疾人这一中心话题。

Discussion:What can a dog help us to do
It can:show the way ,open and close the doors,carry things,answer the phone,take out the rubbish, help the police , help the blind , help people with physical difficulties ,
[设计意图]通过图片,复习狗帮助人的不同方式,引入本课的"The Letter of Thanks"
Step 3 Reading
Ask students to read the reading fast, then finish the reading tasks.Pre-reading:

Task 2:Match the main idea of each paragraph.

Para 4 Ben thanks Miss Li because she gives money to Animal Helpers.
