  点评:一是引导词的添加和保留;二是语序的调整,即由问句变为陈述句语序。这两个方面是关键。再如:

   He asked who I was.
  【案例3】"Follow the instructions and have a try, please." he said.
   He told me to follow the instructions and have a try.
  She encouraged "Go ahead and don't be nervous."
   She encouraged me to go ahead and not to be nervous.
  解析:祈使句由直接引语变为间接引语,把原句变为不定式。这时动词要变为具有命令、要求或鼓励语气的词,如told, asked, ordered等。同时还要在这些动词后边添加相应的宾语,与不定式合起来构成复合宾语。

  Li Ling: "In the morning we can read new words and expressions, but don't try to memorize them all at a time. We can remember part of them separately, especially in the contexts the texts give us. As to passages, I think first we must try to comprehend them well by raising or answering some questions for comprehension and consulting dictionaries or reference books. Then read the passages aloud, paragraph each of them, analyze their main contents and make a brief account about them."

  在妇女解放运动的发源地美国,现在有许多男性已能认同男女平等和女性自立。但他们真把思想化为行动了吗?
  "Equal(平等的)pay for equal work" is a phrase used by the American women who feel that they are unfairly treated by society. They say it is not right for women to be paid less than men for the same work.
  People who hold the opposite view(观点)(mainly men) have an answer to this. They say that men have more responsibilities(责任)than women: a married man is expected to earn money to support his family and to make important decisions, and there fore it is right for men to be paid more. There are some people who hold even stronger views than this and are against married women working at all. When wives go out to work, they say, the home and children are given no attention to. If women are encouraged by equal pay to take full-time jobs, they will be unable to do the things they are best at doing: making a comfortable home and bringing up children. They will have to give up their present position in society.
  This is exactly what they want to give up, women who disagree say. They want to escape from the limited place which society expects them to fill, and to have freedom to choose between a career(事业)and home life, or a mixture of the two. Women have the right not only to equal pay but also to equal opportunities(机会).
  These women have expressed their view forcefully by using the famous statement: "All men are created equal. "They point out that the meaning of this sentence is: "All human beings are created equal."
