【教学过程】
Step 1: Lead in
Ask the students to discuss the questions in “Think about it”.
Step 2: Listening
Let the students listen to the tape carefully with the following questions:
1. Do you want to be a farmer when you grow up Why or why not
2. What is your biggest goal What will you do to make it come true
Step 3: Reading
Ask the students to read the test silently. Then have discussion about the following questions in detail:
1. What’s Lucas’ biggest goal
2. What makes Lucas happy
Step 4: Language points
1. 询问职业的句型:
What is he =What does he do
=What is his job
2. Why 用来提问原因,回答常用because。
e.g . —Why didn’t you go
— Because I was tired.
3. I think 接表否定意义的句子时,往往要采用否定转移:I don’t think…
e.g . I don’t think he is right. 我认为他不对。
4.I would run a business and lead a team.我会开办一家企业并领导一个团队。
run a business意思是“办企业;经营生意”。run此处是“运营;运转;运作”的意思。
His father ran a paint business last year. 他父亲去年经营着一家涂料公司。
5..I would encourage them to be creative. 我会鼓励他们要有创造性。
Encourage 是动词,意思是“鼓励,激励”。encourage sb. to do sth. 表示“鼓励或激励某人做某事”。
例如:She encourages us to work hard but never punishes us.
她鼓励我们努力学习,但是却从来不惩罚我们。
Step 5: Retell
Retell the test with these phrases. Ask the students to retell in groups, then let them retell together, and then retell in competition.
