“WHAT CAN I HELP YOU WITH ” says a voice from an iPhone. It's Siri, and she's ready to follow your voice commands to search the Internet, text someone, or play a song. Siri is an example of artificial intelligence(AI), or a computer program that can think. The way Siri thinks is very different from how a person thinks. She doesn't have a brain. Instead, she relies on code in a computer program to understand speech and answer questions. And some questions are still too difficult for her to answer.
However, AI programs like Siri are getting smarter and smarter every year. In 2011, an AI program named Watson defeated two human champions in the quiz show Jeopardy! Computer programs can also drive cars, perform science experiments, and produce their own artwork.
Someday, artificial intelligence will most likely surpass human intelligence. Once this happens, computers will think, plan, and act at a level that human beings can't understand. In his book Superintelligence, Nick Bostrom writes, “As the fate of the gorillas now depends more on us humans than on the gorillas themselves, so the fate of our species then would come to depend on the actions of the machine superintelligence.”
If a superintelligent computer program wanted to rule the world, Bostrom argues, it would easily do so. It could also wipe out all humans or just ignore us. He's not the only one worrying. In 2015, a group of great scientists wrote an open letter that asks anyone researching AI to proceed carefully. “AI has the potential to benefit society greatly, but our AI systems must do what we want them to do,” they wrote. What do you think If people create superintelligent AI, will we be able to control it
What will happen to us if a superintelligent computer program starts making decisions on its own

A.Supportive. B.Doubtful.
C.Cautious. D.Objective.

Going on vacation can be challenging for people with physical disabilities. Hotels aren't always clear about how accessible (可进入的)they are and the adaptive equipment needed to participate in certain activities can be expensive or difficult to obtain.
This is why the online travel marketplace Wheel the World comes in.The website connects physically disabled people with special tour packages, depending on the person's needs.
Today Wheel the World offers over 30 accessible destinations in the U.S. and abroad. They've served almost 900 disabled people, their family and friends. Travelers can sign up for trips to destinations such as New York, Hawaii, Paris, London, and the Kruger National Park in South Africa. Trip packages can include adaptive equipment such as wheelchairs, which can be used on the beach and in the ocean, and kayaks (皮艇),which can help those disabled people to kayak. The team also check the accessibility of destinations themselves, evaluating things such as door widths, bed heights, bathrooms' accessibility and if lifts are functioning.
Silberstein, the company's founder, says there are some trips that are suitable for blind people, though Wheel the World focuses on people with mobility issues. And in the future, they plan to include trips for people with hearing loss, and people with emotional disabilities. “One of the biggest barriers for travelers with physical disabilities is finding information about accessible trips, which is a gap Wheel the World aims to close,” says Silberstein.
Wheel the World is working to enlarge tours in Europe—currently their website lists London and Paris as the only destinations on the continent, but their eventual goal is much higher. “We want to allow millions of disabled people to travel to thousands of destinations,” Silberstein says.
8.What is the function of the first paragraph

“More and more consumers across the country are using cashless payment methods. The rapid development of third party mobile payment tools is helping to encourage cashless payment across the country,” said Dong Ximiao, a researcher at Renmin University of China.
Although there were 3.4 billion third party payment accounts in total in China in 2016, China is not the first country to seek a cashless society. Developed countries like Sweden, Denmark and Singapore are also seeing that increase.
However, the rapid development of the cashless payment does not mean there are no challenges or criticisms. Alibaba's Hema store has come under the spotlight(成为焦点) recently. The media said that consumers couldn't buy goods in cash there, which would be considered illegal.
Alipay and WeChat Pay, the nation's two major third party mobile payment tools, also launched campaigns this month to encourage more people to use cashless payment methods, which caused concern over whether cash will soon disappear.
“Some offline sellers refuse to accept cash, which influences the natural circulation(流通)of cash,” said Dong. He stressed that a cashless society would not mean that cash would completely disappear. “Also it's important to remember that nearly half of China's population live in the country, and they are unable to enjoy innovation(革新)brought by the Internet,” said Dong. “And when it comes to China's senior citizens, most of them prefer to use cash in their daily lives,” he added.
“It's ridiculous(荒谬的)to question digital payment tools' contribution to financial development. In the long term, various payment methods will be used by consumers, and merchants should respect consumers' payment habits,”Dong noted.
12.What does the underlined word “that” in Paragraph 2 probably refer to
A.The economic activity.
B.A large amount of payment.
C.The development of the economy.
D.The cashless payment.
13.Why has Alibaba's Hema store become a focus
A.It fights against illegal activities.
B.Customers are not permitted to use cash there.
C.It provides comprehensive services.
D.It starts campaigns to encourage mobile payment.
14.What is Dong Ximiao's attitude towards the payment in the future
A.The cashless payment should be limited in the countryside.
B.The innovation from payment is ridiculous in fact.
C.Various payment methods should be supported.
D.The digital payment should replace cash completely.
15.What is the best title of the passage
A.Innovation on the Internet
B.Cash or cashless
C.Payment online should replace cash
D.Is the circulation of cash dying

How would you feel if moving to a new town meant losing track of your friends What if the only way of getting news from faraway friends is writing letters that take ages to be delivered 16 Thanks to advances in technology, how we make friends and communicate with them has changed.
Nowadays, we can move around the world and still stay in touch with the people that we want to remain friends with. Social media tools let us see what our friends are up to(正在做) and maintain friendships. 17
The digital age also enables us to find people who share our interests, such as collecting model cars or playing an unusual instrument. Whatever our hobbies are, the Internet can connect us with others who also enjoy doing them, even if they live on the other side of the world.
But when you “friend” people online, does this mean that they really are your friends 18 If people always exchange true personal information online, then yes, these friendships can be real and meaningful. But we need to keep in mind that what we see on social media is often not the whole truth about a person.
On social media sites, people tend to post only positive updates that make them appear happy and friendly. But smiling photos can hide real problems. 19 A young person could be old;a woman could be a man;we could even be sharing our information with criminals.
20 Although technology has changed the way we acquire friends, the meaning of friendship and our longing for friends remain the same. As Aristotle said, no one would choose to live without friends, even if he had all other goods.
A.It depends.
B.All you need is a Wi Fi connection.
C.It's a problem that's getting a lot of reports.
D.This was how things worked not very long ago.
E.Remember the saying: On the Internet, nobody knows you're a dog.
F.But that doesn't mean that a higher percentage of people feel lonely now.
G.But this doesn't mean that we should throw the baby out with the bathwater.

Hillary Harris lived with her husband and daughter in Eau Claire, Wisconsin. However, she was thinking of moving, not because she didn't like the house or the neighborhood, but because of the house next door. She hated that her family had to share the driveway with the neighbors, and she also disliked the fact that tenants(租户) came and went to that house all the time. And when a couple in their 50s moved next door, it wasn't any different. Hillary felt that she had had enough, so she didn't even try to be warm towards them.
“Here we go again,”she thought. “Now what ” As she admitted, she was “turned off” by the woman next door and they were cold to each other.
“She would not accept me anyhow, ”Dawn Johnson, the new neighbor, recalled. “I would come to get my mail, shut it and watch her walk into the house.” But everything was about to change in an unbelievable way.
Hillary knew she had been adopted(收养)when she was a baby, and she knew she had several siblings (兄;弟;姐;妹). In fact, she had already managed to reunite with three of them through the Internet. But there was still one sibling that she couldn't track down. All she knew was that her name was Dawn Johnson. She had found three other siblings on the Internet, but she was having no luck with Dawn. She was beginning to think that she'd never find her.
When she realized her new neighbor's name was Dawn, she kind of had a feeling that she just might be her sister. She learned that the woman's first name was Dawn and that she was from Greenwood—the same town where Dawn Johnson had lived according to what she had learned from her father, Wayne Clouse. She told her husband, “Her name is Dawn—what if she's my sister ” They both laughed and said, “No way! No way could that be.”
Paragraph 1:
However, she couldn't help thinking about it.

Paragraph 2:
So,when Johnson went out of town,Hillary texted her, asking about her father's name.

故选A。
根据倒数第二段中的“He's not the only one worrying.”
根据第二段中的“The website connects physically disabled people with special tour packages, depending on the person's needs.”
故选A。

One possible version:
Dear Sir or Madam,
I'm writing to you about the headphones that I bought several days ago. There is something wrong with the headphones, and it makes me extremely unhappy.
The headphones that I ordered on your website were blue. Much to my amazement, when I took the headphones out of the box, I found they were black. Worse still, the headphones didn't perform well and I was very annoyed about the sound. Therefore, I have to require you to replace them as soon as possible.
I am looking forward to your early reply.
Yours,
Li Hua
第二节
One possible version:
Paragraph 1:
However, she couldn't help thinking about it.But she couldn't find the courage to go over to the neighbor's house and ask what her last name was or who her birth father was. Until one day, Hillary ended up seeing the woman's last name on one of their deliveries. Amazingly, it was Johnson! Hillary got excited, and she immediately called her husband to let him know she had just found her sister. Harris knew she had to ask the woman directly, but she was worried about being refused.
Paragraph 2:
So,when Johnson went out of town,Hillary texted her, asking about her father's name. Indeed, it was Wayne Clouse. The two women spent that night talking on the phone and crying. Neither of them could believe that after so many years they found each other just by chance. The two women have been inseparable since they found out that they are sisters. They advise anyone who is looking for their birth family to just knock on the neighbors' door. It goes to show that you should always be kind and respectful to your neighbors. Who knows that they could end up being your long lost relatives
