文章为了表达准确严密, 经常通过加上相应的词语限制, 如涉及数量时常用many, almost all, nearly, more than, over, only a few, normally等限制。
If you watch the sky for about an hour after the sun goes down, you may see some “moving stars”. But they are not really stars. They are man-made satellites. And the biggest of all is the International Space Station(ISS). From May to July is the best season to watch the ISS flying over the earth. And people can see it with their eyes during the time.
The scientists want to live on the ISS. They think that the best way to learn more about space is to live there.
When the space station is finished, it will be like a city in space. People will stay and study there with many of the things they have at home. Laboratories, living rooms and power stations are being built. The ISS is the most expensive program. Billions of dollars are spent on it every year.
Scientists hope that the ISS will be a stepping stone for future space exploration. “The ISS will be more useful some day. The ISS will help us understand the human body better, explore space and study the earth. It can help us make life on the earth better. ”said Kathryn Clark, an ISS scientist.
68. From the first paragraph, we can learn ______.
A. we can’t see the ISS with our eyes
B. March is the best season to watch the ISS flying over the earth
C. all the moving stars are really stars
D. the biggest man-made satellite is the ISS
根据第一段中的“They are man-made satellites. And the biggest of all is the International Space Station(ISS).
In their last moment before the flight took off, I heard a father saying to his daughter, “I love you, I wish you enough. ”The daughter said, “Daddy, our life together has been more than enough. Your love is all I ever needed. I wish you enough too. ”They kissed goodbye and the daughter left. I could see the father was very sad.
Suddenly the father walked towards me and asked me, “Did you ever say goodbye to someone knowing it would be the last time? ”
56. Where did the story happened?
A. In a hospital. B. At an airport.
C. At a train station. D. In a park.
www-2-1-cnjy-com

Min Sun, with another name of Ziqian, was a famous man in the State of Lu during the Spring and Autumn Period. He was a student of Confucius. Among all students of Confucius, he was compared with Yan Yuan.
Min Sun’s mother died very early. Later his father took another wife, who gave birth to two sons. The stepmother mistreated Min Sun—in winter, while two younger brothers wore warm clothes made of cotton, Min Sun only wore clothes made of reed catkins(芦花).
47. The underlined word“mistreated”in the passage means“ ______”.
Building a single umbrella, which is big enough to cover the whole earth, seems to be impossible. Roger Angel, a scientist from the USA, has carried out research to deal with this problem. He came up with an idea of mini-umbrellas. In fact, eachmini-umbrella is made up of two parts, a spaceship and a sunshade(遮阳篷). A spaceship weighing about 1g would carry a sunshade that is half a meter long. It would be mostly transparent. That means light can pass it directly to reach the earth, with lands and oceans clearly in view.
46. The underlined word“transparent”here probably means“ ______”.
分析: 由下一句中的That means可知, light can pass it directly to reach the earth, with lands and oceans clearly in view是对transparent的解释, 故答案为A。
After graduating from a college, she went to this school alone and worked there for nearly twenty years.
The headmaster of the school said, “She worked hard and taught well. She was a backbone teacher in our school. She was also the most welcome teacher among the students. For students, she was like a mother. They called her“Little Mother. ”
52. The underlined word“backbone”in this passage means ______ in Chinese.
”和“She was also the most welcome teacher among the students. . .
一样), as. . . as(如同……一样), the same as(与……
We know that the umbrella was used in ancient Egypt and Babylon as a sunshade. And there was a strange thing connected with its use: it became a symbol of honor and power(权力). In the Far East in ancient times, the umbrella was allowed to be used only by those in high office or by royal people such as the kings or queens.
63. The underlined word royal might mean ______in Chinese.
分析: 句中的such as the kings or queens是重要的信号词, 这说明royal people与kings or queens是具有相似地位的人, 由此可知答案为A。
Dear Linda,
I forgot to send you the package that you should have received on May 20, 1956, your fifth birthday. The gift inside has aged, but I felt that you might still wish to have it. Sorry for the lateness! Love,
Angel of Joy
Linda opened the package and saw a lovely grandma doll. She clasped the doll that she had waited so many years to receive, tears coursing down her face. The doll, given by“Angel of Joy”, made her the happiest“child”alive.
35. What does the underlined word clasped probably mean in the passage?
A. held B. threw
C. made D. bought
When I almost lifted a bean, it dropped back to the ground. When I finally picked up several beans, one of my friends ran into me. I couldn’t keep my balance and fell over. All my beans dropped to the ground! Just at that moment, Mr. Kwak called us back. I had to leave the game and of course I got a bad result. I couldn’t help thinking that if I were a bird living on Galapagos Island, I would be dead soon.
The fun game made me realize that natural selection is really competitive(竞争的). Everyone is trying his or her best to survive.
64. What’s the meaning of the underlined word“survive”in the last paragraph?
A. Find food. B. Remain alive.
C. Be lovely. D. Keep balanced.
Do you know why so many animals do not stay in one place? Birds, fish and other animals move from one place to another place at a certain time. They move for different reasons: most of them move to find food more easily, but others move to get away from places that are too crowded.
When cold weather comes, many birds move to warmer places to find food. Some fishes give birth in warm water and move to cold water to feed. The most famous migration is probably the migration of fish, which is called“salmon”(鲑鱼).
58. The underlined word migration in the passage means ______.
It was already eleven o’clock. By the light of the moon I started working, trying to make as little noise as possible. And that was not easy with a saw(锯子)and a hammer.
After much effort, my work was finally completed. I looked down at my watch. It was exactly 4: 00 am. Then I went inside to have a shower and get a few hours of sleep. It wouldn’t be long now before the kids would rush into my room and wake me up to tell me about the new tree-house Father Christmas had brought them this year.
49. What did the man want to do after finishing his plan?
A. Go to sleep.
B. Wake up his children.
C. Open the bag.
D. Call the police.
Then I went inside to have a shower and get a few hours of sleep.
People think of ice cream as an American food. Yet, ice cream really came from Asia. In the late 1200s Marco Polo, the great explorer, is said to have seen rich Asians eating dishes of ice. Camels had brought the ice from distant mountains. Before it was served, the ice had been flavored(调味)with fruits.
Marco Polo brought this new dish to Italy. In France cooks changed the ice recipe(配方)and made ice cream.
Some great Americans loved ice cream. George Washington was the first to buy a special machine for making it. When Thomas Jefferson returned from France, he brought an ice cream recipe home with him. Dolly Madison, wife of President James Madison, also liked ice cream, and she often served it at the White House. Actually, a famous brand(品牌)of ice cream was even named after her.

Teens want structure in their lives, which means they want their lives well-planned. To begin building structure, teens need love and trust. They need to know their parents are there to give them needed love and support(支持). Teens want to be sure that nothing can prevent parents from shouldering their responsibility for them—not their growing maturity(成熟), misbehavior, nor anger at something they have done. Teens want parents to keep control while allowing them to make some decisions.
There are some ways you can help your teens create reasonable structure and remain close. One way is to spend time together. Parents often mistake their teens’ increased interest in friends for a disinterest in the family.
Teens would like to spend more time doing things with their parents, but watching TV is not counted as spending time together. As your teens mature, it is important you and your teens spend time alone together, one to one. Your teens need time to talk to you alone without any other family member present.
. . .
56. According to Paragraph 1, teens ______.
A. can control themselves
B. expect direction and freedom
C. don’t know how to make decision
D. don’t have responsibility for the family

Vicky Zhao is from the mainland working in Hong Kong. For her, one thing she can’t stand is people standing on the wrong side of the escalator(自动扶梯)in subway stations.
“Escalators help us move faster and save time. It isn’t a place to rest, ”the 24-year-old says, “I often see tourists blocking(挡住)the way with their heavy suitcases or chatting on the escalators during rush hour. It makes me very angry. ”
Agreeing that she is not the patient type, Zhao says things are much better in Hong Kong than in cities on the mainland where people often pay no attention to“stand right, walk left”signs.
The reason behind the rule“stand right, walk left”seems clear. Even though you may want to have a rest and just wait while you’re transported up or down, you should still consider others and leave enough space for people in a hurry, so that they can run and take the train.
But the people who stand on escalators will tell the walkers not to be so impatient. In a recent story about the escalator rule, one stander says, “If the person is in such a rush, why not just take the stairs? ”
Many cities’ escalators, including London’s and Beijing’s, use the“stand right, walk left”rule to speed up the movement of people. (In Australian cities like Sydney you should stand on the left side instead. )But some cities discourage people from moving on escalators out of safety reasons. In Hong Kong’s subway stations people are asked to“stand still”on escalators. Even so, most people keep the“stand right, walk left”rule.
Whatever the escalator rule is in the place you live in or visit, do what most people are doing and always be mindful of others, leave enough space between each other, don’t stay at the end of the escalator, and if someone is blocking your way, a simple“excuse me”is enough.
51. What’s the best title of the passage?
A. Get it right B. Help others
C. Take stairs D. Move fast
When I was a child, my parents often took me to an old house in a thick forest. No other children ever stayed there. I didn’t even have the choice of playing with a brother or sister.
I could never understand what the attraction(吸引)of the house was, even for my parents, who enjoyed nothing better than to sit in silence with a good book. The woman in the house, my father’s distant cousin, was a terrible cook and her food was inedible.
One day, when I was wandering around the garden behind the house, I noticed a wooden house which had clearly been abandoned(被遗弃的). As I walked towards it, I heard a noise, like an animal moving hurriedly away. Then I saw a man with a long beard standing at the door. I was greatly surprised.
“Please don’t tell them you saw me, ”he said, “They never use this place, and I have nowhere else to live. ”“Don’t worry, ”I said. “I won’t tell anyone. But are you all right out here? I mean—do you have enough to eat? ”The old man shook his head.
The same evening, I took a small plastic bag into the dining room and, while no one was looking, emptied some of the food into it. Later, I got out of the back door secretly and gave the food to the old man, whose name I had discovered was Taff.
I had never seen anything else as lovely as the smile of satisfaction on Taff’s face when he ate the food. From then on, my visits to the old house had a purpose, and I enjoyed every minute of rest of my stay.
60. The story mainly tells us ______.
A. it’s nice to raise wild animals
B. it’s valuable to help others
C. it’s good to live in the forest
D. it’s comfortable to live in the old house
如果在段末, 其前可能有above all, all in all等信息词。
(1)概括不够(多表现为部分代替整体, 从而导致范围太小);
(2)过度概括(多表现为人为扩大范围);

Henry worked on a ship, doing tricks (魔术). Each week he showed the same tricks over and over again, because the passengers on the ship were different. There was also a parrot on the ship. It saw the shows so many times that it understood everything. Then it started shouting during the show:

“All the cards are the same.”
“Look carefully. It’s a different hat!”
Henry was very angry but could do nothing.
One day the ship had an accident and broke into pieces. Henry fell into the water. When he climbed up onto a piece of wood, he found the parrot there. He looked at the parrot angrily and did not say a word. This went on for one day, then another and another. In the end, the parrot said, “Oh, how I wish I hadn’t said anything during the shows. A Cool Way to Keep Cool
We all know that foods will easily go bad if they get too warm. So we usually put them into our fridges to keep cool in hot weather. But can you make it without fridges?
In 1995, Abba, a teacher from Nigeria, found a cool way. His invention was called Pot-in-Pot Cooling System.
It uses two clay pots (陶罐). There is a smaller pot inside a lager one. The space between the two pots is filled with wet sand. Fruit, vegetables or drinks can be put into the smaller pot. A wet cloth covers the whole cooling system. Some foods can be kept fresh for several weeks in it.
Abba built five thousand pot-in-pot systems for the villagers in his hometown. Then people all over the country began using the invention. Soon it became popular with farmers in other African countries.

They thought that deer blood would improve their health. They did not think of the pain and the terror(恐惧)felt by the deer.
Someday another Noc will appear and start to talk to humans. He will tell us that humans and animals are not really that different. We both have thoughts and feelings and we share the same earth.
