Unit 1 Could you tell me how to get to the National Stadium?
新课程教学过程应从注重学生的学习兴趣，生活经验和认知水平出发，倡导学生亲自体验，亲自实践，积极参与，合作与交流的学习方式和任务型的教学途径，发展学生的思维和综合语言运用的能力，使语言学习的过程成为学生主动思维和大胆实践、提高文化素养和培养学生自主学习能力的过程。我们可以清楚地看出，新课程标准要求以“学生为主体、教师为主导”的课堂教学模式，教师的角色应该从“演员”转变为“节目主持人”，把舞台真正还给学生，由学生当演员，唱主角，充分体现学生的主体地位，让学生在动中学、在乐中学，启发学生的思维、培养学生的学习能力和创新意识、提高教育教学质量。
下面是我对义务教育教科书七年级下册第六模块第一单元的教学设计，对如何将《英语新课程标准》的理念融入课堂教学作如下探讨:
【教材分析】
本模块以出行旅游为话题。Unit 1 中的对话是通过读地图来呈现指路及表明具体位置的语言表达方式。通过本单元的听说活动，给学生提供充足的体验和运用语言的机会。
【学情分析】
学生具有一定的英语基础，学习热情高，表现欲强，能积极参与到课堂中。而且相互之间能够很好地利用小组进行合作交流。
【教学目标】
Knowledge objective:
To master some words and expressions about places, positions and giving directions.
Ability objective:
1. To ask the way and give directions.
2. To understand a conversation of giving directions.
Moral objective:
1. To be polite to others.
2. To be ready to help others.
3. To know more about Beijing and love Beijing.
【教学重点】
1.To learn some words and expressions about places：
Bank, museum, along, across, cross, opposite, tourist, excuse, excuse me, street ,turn, third, guidebook, bookshop, right, why not …? could, underground
2. To learn and review some words about positions: near, opposite, along, on the left/right, across.
3. To learn some expressions about asking ways and giving directions:

1. To get information from the conversation.
2. To ask the way and give directions.
【教学方法】
PWP method, task-based method and interactive approach.
【教学手段】
A tape recorder, multimedia ,PPT courseware, the teaching CD and some pictures.
【教学过程】
Teaching Procedures:
Step 1 Revision【复习】
listen to an English song.
Aim : to activate the classroom atmosphere.
Do a duty :
Aim :To give one student a chance to train his spoken English in every class.
Talking and acting:
Aim :to check if the students can practice the topic of the last module and to develop the students’speaking and language expressing abilities.
Step 2 Leading in 【导入】
Play a guessing game: The teachers shows the pictures of new words and let the students say as quickly as possible.
Ai : to check if the students preview the new lesson before the class and to be familiar with them.
2、Look, think and say: the teacher shows some pictures about giving directions and some road signs and asks the students to think and say the phrases.
Aim :to consolidate the phrases about giving directions.
3、Find and say. The teacher shows pictures of direction prepositions, and the students find the right words and make some sentences with the direction prepositons.
Aim : to understand and master the usage of the direction prepositions.
Step 3 Presentation: 【新语言项目呈现】
1、The teacher shows some questions for the students to
answer.
Aim : to elicit the students to speak out the four places.
Look at the pictures and match the words.
Aim : To be familiar with the four places.
Listen and number the places as you hear them.
Aim : to train the students’listening ability and at the same time , to make the students have a preliminary understanding of asking the way and giving directions.
4 Listen and read
(1)look at the questions before listening and then listen and answer the questions.
Aims: to make the students effectively capture information in the process of listening.

c. Which places does the old woman want to go ?
d.Who does the old woman ask for help?
e.How does the woman ask the way?
f.How can the tourist get to Wangfujing Dajie from Tian’anmen Square?

h.How can the old woman get to the National Stadium?
Answers:
a.They are in front of Tian’anmen Square.
b. She is a tourist.
c.She wants to go to three places,Wangfujing Dajie,bookshop and the National stadium.
d.First ,she asks Betty and Lingling for help, then she asks a policeman for help.
e.--- Can you tell me the way to Wangfujing Dajie?
--- Is there a bookshop near here?
--- How can I get to the National Stadium?
--- Could you tell me how to get to the National
Stadium?
f. Go across Dong Chang’an Jie, go along the street and turn left the third street on the left.
g.The bookshop is just along Xi Chang’an Jie, on the right, opposite the bank.
h. Go along the street and take the underground to the Olympic Sports centre or take a bus or a taxi.
5. Point out the main language points in the dialogue.
Aim : to make the students have a clearer understanding
of the main language points.
Step 4 Practise 【练习】

Work in groups. Draw a map of where you live. Show places.
Ask for and give directions to the places on the map in groups.
