I.教学内容分析 本单元主题是人与社会,围绕互联网这一话题展开讨论。Listening and Speaking: Ask about online habits 该板块的听力是调查类访谈,调查者通过同样的问题采访特定人群来获取信息,从而了解他们对该问题的看法或者态度。本板块的主题是“上网习惯调查”,让学生调查同伴的网络使用情况,有利于他们增进相互了解,提升对互联网的认识,同时也可以帮助他们反思自己的上网行为,借鉴他人良好的上网习惯,戒除自己不良的上网行为。 Reading and thinking : Starting an online community 以“创办网上社区”为主题,讲述了一位年过五旬的失业女教师利用互联网改变了自己也帮助了他人的故事。语篇结构完整,主题思想积极向上,充满正能量。通过一系列的阅读活动,帮助学生梳理文本内容,理清文本结构,把握文本的主题意义。学生应学会通过分析文章标题获取文章话题范围,主旨和作者态度等阅读策略,培养语篇知识。读后活动训练学生由此及彼的迁移性思维。 本单元的名人名言是“The Internet is becoming the town square for the global village of tomorrow----Bill Gates”。(因特网正成为明日地球村的闹市广场。——比尔·盖茨),它很好地诠释了主题图的寓意。现实世界的闹市广场熙熙攘攘、人来人往,商品、服务和信息在此集聚、流通、交换和分享,满足人们的物质生活和精神生活的需要。该名言用闹市广场隐喻互联网,生动传神。 II. 本单元建议分六课时: 第一课时:Listening and Speaking 第二课时:Reading and Thinking 第三课时:Learning about language 第四课时:Discovering useful structure 第五课时:Listening and Talking 第六课时:Reading for writing

教学 目标 1.To understand the content and structure of an investigation interview about online habits. 2.To master how to define new words and use the skill to catch the key information in the listening process. 3.To identify the useful sentence patterns and expressions from the listening text. 4.To talk about online activities and the reasons for using the Internet.
重点 难点 1. Cultivate students' listening strategies by learning ways to define new words. 2. Enable students to naturally use the functional and notional items of this unit to express their guess, expectation or belief.

Step 1: Lead in The teacher is advised to talk with the meaning of the sentence in the opening page Boys and girls, before our listening, let’s work in pairs and discuss: The internet is becoming the town square for the global village of tomorrow. How do you understand the sentence It means the Internet has made the world closer together; we can interact on the Internet just like meeting at the square. Step 2: Warming up After their small talk, the teacher can ask students to talk about their online habits: What do you usually do when you are online write a blog post use a search engine Chat online Watch Stream movies and music …… Step 3: Sam is doing a survey on online habits. He is now talking to his schoolmates Anna Paul, and Joe. Listen to the conversation and complete the following tasks. Step 4: Then, play the tape again. And after finishing listening, the students need to solve the following tasks. Fill in the blanks to complete the sentences. 1.
