【教学目标】
1.语言技能:
(1)能够听懂、会说、认读、默写以下有关形容词比较级的单词:younger,older, taller,
shorter, longer.
(2)能够正确运用以上单词来对事物进行比较。
(3)能够熟练运用句型“How tall are you?/ I’m 1.61 metres. / I’m taller. / How old are you?
I’m 12 years old. / I’m older than you, too.”进行有关身高与年龄信息的交流。
(4)能够运用句型“________ is taller/older than ________.”来进行身高或年龄的比较。
2.语言知识:
(1)学会有关身高与年龄信息的句子, 能在现实生活中运用。
(2)能根据单词的音、形、义来学习词汇。
3.情感态度、学习策略与文化意识:
(1)在调查活动中,能够积极与其他同学配合和合作完成任务。
(2)在课堂教学活动中,积极运用所学英语进行表达和交流。

【教学过程】
Step 1:warm-up
1.Greeting.师生用英语互相问候。
2.Review the words.
看卡片,复习五年级上册学过的单词young,old,tall,short(矮的,短的),long.
3.Talk about the text learned last period.
复习上一节课学过的课文,复习有关词汇tall,taller, tallest.
Step 2:Presentation
1.Ask and answer.(交流有关身高信息,建议教师在上课之前为学生测量好身高,作为实际交流的依据。)
T:How tall are you?
S1:I’m 1.52 metres.
T: I’m 1.60 meters. I’m taller than you. You are shorter than me.
【设计意图】通过上一节课学过的句型,再经历比较的过程,引出词汇taller与shorter,衔接自然,学生易于接受。
2.Look and describe.(看课件,谈一谈,比一比,如果条件不许可,可以用卡片代替课件)
(1)比较身高 A:How tall are you
B:I'm 1.28 metres.
A:I'm 1.45 metres. I'm taller than you. You're shorter than me.
(2)比较年龄A:How old are you
B:I'm 9 years old.
A:I'm 10 years old. I'm older than you. You're younger than me.
(3)比较长度 My legs are shorter. / My legs are longer.
【设计意图】通过比较,能够有效地帮助学生能够迅速理解单词的含义。
