Part A Let’s talk
Good morning,my dear judges.It’s so happy to be here and talk about my lesson with you.The topic of my lesson is Unit3Where did you go PA Let’s talk.
According to the teaching concepts.My teaching plan was designed based upon the English curriculum standards, 2022. these activities are based on the concept of English learning activities. And we also got some ideas from the article of big concepts written by Wang Qiang. The thematic context are Human and himself,Human and society.
Now I’m going to say something about my thoughts in the following six parts:the Analysis of teaching material,teaching aims,about students,teaching methods&studying methods,teaching procedure and blackboard design.Now please allow me to introduce them step by step.
Part1 is about teaching materials.( 说教材)This lesson is from PEP English, book 8 unit3 Where did you go It’s about the holiday.By study of this unit,students can use the words,phrases and sentences in their communication.They know how to talk about their holiday with their friends,and they know how to ask and answer.
Part2 teaching aims:( 说教学目标)
No.1 Language competence:(语言能力)
Ss can master the words:fell off, Labour Day, mule, Turpan,could,till.And the sentence patterns:Where did you go What did you do Did you go to…
Also they can understand the meaning of this talk.
No.2 Cultural awareness:(文化意识)
After the learning of this lesson,Ss are able to talk about their holidays with friends.And also they will know more about Xinjiang and other beautiful and great places in China.Ss will be interested in learning English.So it can encourage them speak more.
No.3 Learning ability:(学习能力)
Ss will be able to work with others to complete learning tasks in learning activities,to think seriously, explore actively, try to find and solve the problems in language learning in many ways.
No.4Thinking quality:(思维品质)
Cultivate students’ divergent thinking ability,to find the problems,analyze problems and solve problems and make the right evaluation of things.
So according to the above analysis,the teaching key points are the new words and sentences,The difficult points are the changes of past tense.
Part3 is about students.( 说学情) The ss of grade 6 have already mastered some basic English knowledge.They have better self-control and self-learning ability.But the skill of using English is limited.So I will focus on the communication with them.And arrange more interesting but useful activities to arouse their passion.
Part4 Teaching methods &studying methods.( 说教法学法)I will adopt TPR,situation and task-based language teaching methods.I will creating a situation that Ss are familiar with.And design some tasks to help Ss learn and give them more chances to practice.That is”Learning by doing,learning by using”.
About Studying methods.I will use pair work,group work to lead the Ss take an active part in the class.And try to give them a relaxed atmosphere to study.So they can practice listening and speaking bravely.And,they can improve their skills by self-studying,cooperating etc.
Part5 Teaching procedures,( 说教学过程)the most
important part in my teaching design.There are five steps as follows:
Step1:Lead in and warming up(热身导入)
Now,let’s see warming up.I will say morning to my ss first.Good morning,boys and girls.How are you today How’s the weather today What did you do last weekend How was your weekend
Before class,Let’s sing a song”Tell me about your holiday ” For this song,It can make the class more active.Then,we will play a game to review the words and sentences.
Step2:Presentation(新授)
My presentation are as follows:
1. Let’s try:Listen, who called John Now,listen,Tick or cross.
2. Watch the video and preview the talk:What happened to John And focus on the words:fall-fell;hurt-hurt.
3. Read&answer the questions:Is John all right now I will lead the Ss read the talk and find the answer.
4. Read and choose:Which holiday did they talk about And teach them the new words:Labour Day
5.Ask and answer:Where did John go They can answer-Mt.Tianshan,Xinjiang.And watch a video about Xinjiang.
What did John do there He rode a horse and saw lots of grapes there.
What’s the small horse look like It looks like a mule.
Did you go to Turpan What did he see Can they eat the grapes in May And focus most difficult sentences:
But we couldn’t eat them,they won’t be ready till August.
At the end,listen to the tape and follow the tape ,focus on the pronunciation and intonation,then practise the dialogues by themselves.
By presenting the new talk with pictures and chant,it can stimulate Ss learning interest.
Step3:Practice(巩固练习)
I will arrange 2 activities in this part.
Activity1:Fill in the blanks:to practice the dialogue and familiar with the talk.
Activity2:Do a survey. Lead the students to use the sentences: Where did you go What did you do Did you go to… Then invite some groups to come and share their performance.
By this way,Ss can practice the new words and sentences again and again,and they can make their own conversations easily.
Step4:Production(拓展延伸)
To do the exercise about this lesson.
Fill in the blanks with right words;Let’s say the past-tense. For this part,It can help ss practise more,speak more.
Step5:Summary and Homework(总结与作业)
First make a summary on what we have learned this class.Then arrange the optional and flexible homework.For example,do a survey about holidays of your friends,read the talk for 3 times;finish the textbook.
It can help Ss to master the knowledge of this lesson.
The last part is my blackboard design(说板书设计)
As you can see,I just wrote down the key words and sentences on the blackboard.It’s very simple and clear for Ss.
