Part A Let’s learn
Good afternoon,all the teachers.It’s so happy to be here and talk about my lesson with you.The topic of my lesson is Unit3Where did you go PA Let’s learn.
According to the teaching concepts.My teaching plan was designed based upon the English curriculum standards, 2022. these activities are based on the concept of English learning activities. And we also got some ideas from the article of big concepts written by Wang Qiang. The thematic context are Human and himself,Human and society.
Now I’m going to say something about my thoughts in the following six parts:the Analysis of teaching material,teaching aims,about students,teaching methods&studying methods,teaching procedure and blackboard design.Now please allow me to introduce them step by step.
Part1 is about teaching materials.( 说教材)This lesson is from PEP English, book 8 unit3 Where did you go It’s about the holiday.By study of this unit,students can use the words,phrases and sentences in their communication.They know how to talk about their holiday with their friends,and they know how to ask and answer.
Part2 teaching aims:( 说教学目标)
No.1 Language competence:(语言能力)
Ss can able to read,speak,listen and write the phrases:rode a horse, rode a bike, went camping, went fishing, hurt my foot.And use the sentence patterns:Where did you go... I went to ... What did you do there To talk about their holiday.And they know how to arrange the holidays reasonably and love every day.
No.2 Cultural awareness:(文化意识)
After the learning of this lesson,Ss are able to talk about their holidays with friends.And also they will know more about Xinjiang and other beautiful and great places in China.Ss will be interested in learning English.So it can encourage them speak more.
No.3 Learning ability:(学习能力)
Ss will be able to work with others to complete learning tasks in learning activities,to think seriously, explore actively, try to find and solve the problems in language learning in many ways.
No.4Thinking quality:(思维品质)
Cultivate students’ divergent thinking ability,to find the problems,analyze problems and solve problems and make the right evaluation of things.
So according to the above analysis,the teaching key points are the new words and sentences,The difficult points are the changes of past tense.
Part3 is about students.( 说学情) The ss of grade 6 have already mastered some basic English knowledge.They have better self-control and self-learning ability.But the skill of using English is limited.So I will focus on the communication with them.And arrange more interesting but useful activities to arouse their passion.
Part4 Teaching methods &studying methods.( 说教法学法)I will adopt TPR,situation and task-based language teaching methods.I will creating a situation that Ss are familiar with.And design some tasks to help Ss learn and give them more chances to practice.That is”Learning by doing,learning by using”.
About Studying methods.I will use pair work,group work to lead the Ss take an active part in the class.And try to give them a relaxed atmosphere to study.So they can practice listening and speaking bravely.And,they can improve their skills by self-studying,cooperating etc.
Part5 Teaching procedures,( 说教学过程)the most
important part in my teaching design.There are five steps as follows:
Step1:Lead in and warming up(热身导入)
Now,let’s see warming up.I will say hello to my ss first.Hi,boys and girls.How are you today How’s the weather today What did you do last weekend How was your weekend
Before class,We will sing a song.For this song,It can make the class more active.Then,we will have a free talk:What day is it today How about Labour Day What did you do last Labour Day
And Where did John go on Labour Day holiday Let’s guess !
Show some pictures of Xinjiang,and lead the students get the answer:John went to Xinjiang.
Step2:Presentation(新授)
My presentation are as follows:
1.Show the picture of John’s blog.I will say: let’s look at John’s blog.What did John do Yes. He rode a horse.
Then shows the word card, and students read the phrase “rode a horse” after me.And practice reading: ride, rode.
After that,read the phrases in the pictures.
2.Show the picture of went camping.And ask: What did John do Great!Next. He went camping.
Then shows the word card, and students read the phrase “went camping” after me.
3.Teach the phrases:went fishing,by the same way
And practice reading: go -went
4.Let’s say.
Then lead the students say more phrases of go: went boating,went shopping,went swimming,went hiking,went running...
5.Show John’s blog about last Saturday on the PPT. Now, Let’s look at his blog. Where did go go last Saturday What did John do in the park
Yes ,he went to a forest park.He rode a bike. He hurt his foot.
Use similar methods to show pictures in turn and teach new words.
6.He rode a bike but he fell off the bike. He hurt his foot.
And show the word card, students read the phrase “hurt my foot” .
I will present more pictures,and Lead them to know more phrases about hurt: “hurt my foot, hurt my hand …”
7.Good to know
When we ride a bike,we should wear a helmet and protective equipment.
Step3:Practice(巩固练习)
For this step,there are five activities here:
1.Listen and imitate
2.Look and match
Look at the pictures and match them correctly.
3.Let’s retell
Try to retell the phrase.
4.Good to know
Lead the students Know more about the past tense.
5.Pair work
I will make a model first. Students practice with the pictures.What did you do … I …
By this way,Ss can practice the new words and sentences again and again,and they can make their own conversations easily.
Step4:Production(拓展延伸)
1. Listen, answer and write.
John has some friends. Who are they How did they feel
Yes!They are Carl, Meimei and Mr Guo. Now, Let’s listen: What did they do yesterday
(1)Listen to the recording twice and finish the exercises.
(2)Check the answers. Show the listening materials to help students understand further.
(3)Read the answers together.
2.Do the exercise about this lesson.
For this part,It can help ss practise more,speak more.
Step5:Summary and Homework(总结与作业)
First make a summary on what we have learned this class.Then arrange the optional and flexible homework.For example,do a survey about holidays of your friends,read the talk for 3 times;finish the textbook.
It can help Ss to master the knowledge of this lesson.
The last part is my blackboard design(说板书设计)
As you can see,I just wrote down the key words and sentences on the blackboard.It’s very simple and clear for Ss.
