可数名词与不可数名词
名词可分为可数名词和不可数名词两类。可数名词有复数形式,不可数名词没有
复数形式
1.可数名词
可数名词是能直接用数目进行计数的名词。它们可分为单数和复数两种形式。指单个人或事物时,用单数形式如:a pencil 一支铅笔,指两个或多个人或事物时,用复数形式,如 two pencils 两支铅笔。
(1)可数名词复数的变化规则:
一般情况下在词尾加-S:lake-lakes湖dog-dogs狗
以s,x,sh,ch结尾的名词后面加-es
bus-buses 公共汽车 watch-watches手表
以f或fe结尾的名词,变f或fe为v,再加-es
leaf-leaves树叶 wife-wives妻子
以辅音字母加y结尾的名词,变y为i,再加-es
family-families家庭
以元音字母加y结尾的名词后加-s
boy-boys 男孩儿
以辅音字母加o结尾的名词:有生命意义的加-es;无生命意义的加-s
potato-potatoes土豆 photo-photos照片
(2)可数名词复数的不规则变化
不规则变化的名词的复数形式是要单个记忆的,它没有规律可循。
如:man-men woman-women child-children foot-feet tooth-teeth mouse-mice
单复数同形的名词有:sheep, deer等
2.不可数名词
不可数名词是不能直接用数日进行计数的名词。不可数名词没有复数形式,不能直接用数词或不定冠词a/an修饰。
(1)可以用 some,any,much 等表示不具体数量的词来修饰,如: some tea-
些茶,much money很多钱
(2)要表达不可数名词的量,可用“数词+单位词+of+不可数名词”的形式,虽然
不可数名词无复数形式,但要注意单位名词有单复数变化。
如:a cup of tea 一杯茶
three bottles of milk 三瓶牛奶
(3)当不可数名词作主语时,谓语动词必须用单数形式
还有一类词,既可以作可数名词,又可以作不可数名词。如
chicken(“鸡肉”不可数)-chickens(“鸡”,可数)
orange(“橙汁",不可数)oranges(“橙子”可数)
