教学重点:掌握本课时中出现的重点词汇和句型。
教学难点:掌握want to do/be going to do 表达将来的打算。

Leading-in
Ask Ss:What's your new year’s resolution
二、Practice
教学1a-1b
1. Ask Ss to explain what each one means in their own words.
2. Point out the box next to each picture and ask Ss to read the phrases.
3.Ask Ss to match the pictures with the New Year’s resolutions. Number the pictures [1-5].Then check answers in class.
4. Ask two Ss to read the sample conversation to the class. Then ask Ss to work in pairs to have a conversation.
三、Listening
教学lc-1d
1. Read the instructions and point out the phrases in the list in Activity 1a.
2. Play the recording. Ss listen and circle the phrases on the list in Activity 1a they hear.Then check the answers.
3. Play the recording again. Ask Ss to write their answers on the blank lines after each person's name. Check the answers and read them together.

1. Ask two Ss to read the sample conversations.
2. Then ask Ss to make a list of other resolutions and how you are going to make them work.
3. Role -play the conversation.
四、Reading
教学2a-2e
1. Make Ss discuss the questions with their partners.

2. Read the instructions in 2b to the class.
3. Make Ss scan the passage. Then lead Ss to learn the passage sentence by sentence. Pay attention to the key words and phrases.
4. Ss match each paragraph with its main purpose in the small box. Check the answers.
5. Write the letters [A-D] in the correct places in the passage.
6. Work on 2d. Answer the questions with short sentences.
7. Make Ss read the passage again. Be sure to know the main purpose for each paragraph.
8. Ss complete the task in 2c.Make each sentence go in right paragraph. Then check the answers.
9. Ask Ss to answer the seven questions with short sentences individually.
10. Find the phrases in the passage. Then write down your own sentences with them.
五、Language Points
1. Were you able to keep them 你能遵循它们吗

后接动词原形,相当于can able 意为”能够,能”
但两者用法有所不同can 只用于现在时和过去时;be able to 可用于各种时态
例:I can/ could swim 我会游泳
I shall not be able to come again today. 我今天可能不会再来了
过去式could 表示过去的“能力”“潜力”和“可能性”
例:John could run fast and was a good athlete.约能跑得很快而且曾经是一个
很棒的运动员。
过去式was/were able to不能单纯地表示过去的“能力”“潜力”和“可能性
只能表示“能力”和“成功地做了某事”,而且更加侧重强调后者
例: He didn't agree with me at first, but I was able to persuade him to sign the
agreement later.开始他不同意,但后来我终于能够说服他签了协议。

write down意为“写下,记录下”,是由“动词+副词”构成的短语
接名词作宾语时,名词既可放在副词后面,也可放在动词和副词中间
如果接代词作宾语,只能放在动词和副词之间。类似用法的短语还有 pick up,give
up,look up,set up 等
例: Please write your ideas down.= Please write down your ideas

“too+形容词/副词+动词不定式”结构简称为 too..to...结构在大多数情况下表示

too...to...结构相当于 not enough to...,此时enough 修饰的形容词或副词与
too...to...结构中的形容词或副词互为反义词
例: The boy is too young to go to school.= The boy is not old enough to go to
school.这个男孩儿年龄太小,不能上学。
六、Writing
【写作话题】
本单元围绕“Talk about future intentions”这一话题展开教学活动,帮助学生学习制订计划的常用句型。通过与学生谈论将来的计划让学生发表自己的看法,掌握谈论计划的常用句型,以达到互相交流学习的目的,从而有效地提高英语交际能力。
【写作技巧】
(1)本单元的话题是“Talk about future intentions”
话题进行交流,尽量用课文中学过的较为规范的词语和句型
(2)从涉及的内容来看,无论是询问别人的计划,还是说出自己的计划,都需要逐一写出,从而使全文流畅、层次清晰、条理清楚。
(3)常用短语:be going to; grow up ;want to be with the help of等
(4)常用句型:
My dream job is...
When I was...
I'm going to...
【写作应用】
请以“My Dream Job”为题,写一篇80词左右的短文,介绍自己对未来理想职业的打算。
七、Practice

1. Choose a student to read the words in the 1a to the class.
2. Complete the blanks in the paragraphs about resolutions with the words in the box.Then check the answers.
3. Focus on 3b.Ss write their resolutions under the following headings on their own.
4. Ask Ss to read the instruction in 3c.
5. Ss write the paragraphs on their own.
6. Ask one or two Ss to read their passages.
Self-Check
1. Ask Ss to match the jobs with the school subjects.
