the + 单数名词：表示某一类人或事
The lion is the king of the animals.
狮子是动物之王。（指狮子这一种群）
Suites are for the rich.
豪华套间是供富人住的。（指富有的一类人）
Where引导的特殊疑问句
where用来询问地点, 对where疑问句的回答可以是整句、短语或单个的词。如：
Where is your new dress 你的新连衣裙在哪里？
It’s in my room./ In my room. 在我房间里。
It’s on the right./ On the right. 在右边。
Where is the refrigerator 冰箱在哪里？
Where引导的特殊疑问句
在 “Where +be+ 主语 ” 结构中，be动词要跟后面主语的单复数保持一致。如：
Mum, where are my socks 妈，我的袜子呢？

冰箱是谁发明的？
冰箱的发明来自于一群人的智慧。1834年，美国人雅可比·帕金斯发现了某些液体蒸发可以产生冷却的效应，这一发现为冰箱的发明埋下了伏笔。在接下来的近80年里，冰箱的雏形日渐形成。后来到1923年，当弗雷基代尔还是美国通用汽车公司的分厂的时候，它引进了一种新的机械冰箱组件，并组装成电冰箱。弗雷基代尔电冰箱的设计是把储存易腐烂食品的“冰盒”和制冷机械部分装进一个特制的柜子。这种装置安静、方便，且结构紧凑。至此，一种新的冰箱式样诞生了。
