古英语时期(450-1150):始于1500多年前北欧。在公元5世纪由3个日耳曼部落——盎格鲁、撒克逊、裘特人带过来。盎格鲁人原语言是“Englisc”(“English”之来源)。在此时期,古英语朝简化词形变化发展,语法某些方面与现代英语语法不同。近代英语时期(1150-1500):1066年,
