Step 1 Lead in Teacher shows a video about EarlyMan to lead in. Free talk: “Have you ever been to the movie theater ” “Do you like watching movies” and invites some students to share. Step 2 Pre-listening Students follow the teacher to answer the question “What does a good movie theater need ”. Then teacher helps students to distinguish difference between the facilities in different movie theaters using comparative and superlative forms. Teacher shows the picture of different facilities in different movies. Students compare them. Teacher summarizes the usage of superlative degree in adjectives and adverbs. Step 3 While-listening Students look at the qualities and movie theaters on activity 1b, teacher will ask them to predict whether to compare different cinemas. Then listen to the recording and write down the cinema names. Ask some students to share his or her own answers. Read the tape scripts on the screen. Find out the superlative degree of adjectives. Students listen to the recording second time and check “Yes, I did./ No, I didn’t.” in 2b. Students read the tape scripts again. Step 4 Post-listening Role-play the conversations.
