This world is always moving Everything seems to have wheels, engines or wings.
这个世界总是在移动,一切似乎都有轮子、发动机或翅膀。
Everything seems to be getting faster, too. Long ago, horses pulled carts, but now we have engines on everything, even on bicycles and skateboards!

Where did it begin
What's your favourite type of Well, in the 1700s people invented the steam engine.

That was the beginning of trains. Then steam was able to power boats and cars.

Boats have been around for thousands of years, Now with engines, they can go very fast.

on与about作介词时,都意为“关于”,但用法不同。on用于严肃的或学术性的内容,较为正式。about表示内容较普通,不太正式。

seem意为“似乎;好像”。 seem 后接动词不定式,构成 seem to do sth.结构,意为“似乎/好像要做某事”。
Everything seems to have wheels, engines or wings.一切似乎有车轮,发动机或翅膀。

那道数学题好像很难。
【辨析】be able to,can
be able to强调具体事件中有能力,指“经过努力而成功地做某事”,可用于各种时态。
can只是一般性的能力,指“有能力做某事”,只用于一般现在时和一般过去时两种时态。
Then steam was able to power boats and cars.蒸汽能够驱动船和汽车。
be able to意为“能;会;能够”,后接动词原形。
He will be able to drive next year.明年他就能开车了。
She can sing the song in English.她能用英语唱这首歌。
“for+ 一段时间”表示动作从过去开始一直持续到现在,常用于现在完成时的句子中。 现在完成时的句子结构为“主语+have/has+过去分词+其他”。

意为“成千上万的,数以千计的”。
当用hundred,thousand,million,billion等词表示一个不具体的数字时,这些词用复数形式,而且常与介词of 连用来修饰名词。

Bicycle means “two wheels”. The first bicycle was probably created in Germany in 1816.It was heavy and had wooden wheels. 自行车的意思是“两个轮子”。第一辆自行车可能是1816年在德国制造的。它很重,有木制轮子。
