Good morning, ladies and gentlemen.We’re contestant NO.4.It’s my great honor to have this opportunity to share the teaching ideas.Today I’m going to talk about the third period in unit 5. My illustration is composed of 8 parts, Now I’ll introduce them to you.
1.Analysis of teaching material
This lesson is the third period“from 3a to 3c”in unit 5.The topic of the unit is“the ownership of items”. This is a grammar class, so It requires students to learn to talk about sb. have/has sth. or if sb. have/has sth . What’s more, the topic is related to all kinds of sports and students’ daily life.
2.Analysis of students
Students in Grade 7 have learned English for several years, In first year of junior high school. Students learn more seriously, and are eager to learn English well. But in our class the students' English level is uneven, most of the students can make some simple conversations, minority can only understand some easy tasks and learn the new conversations slowly. So when the teacher explained grammar points, she sometimes spoke in Chinese.
3.Teaching Aims

develop the ability of interpersonal communication and grammar skills.

4.Teaching Keys and Difficulties
Next, the key point I put forward to is to learn to use general question sentences to inquire about the ownership of items and provide brief answers.
And the difficult point is to be able to use the “Do.... /Does... ”sentence pattern correctly in real-life situation to discuss what one or others have. Especially understand and master the third person singular.
5.Teaching methods and teaching aids
Teaching methods:In this class, We used inductive method and cooperative method.
Teaching aids:multimedia,self-made training aids,blackboard
Teaching Procedures
Step1 Lead-in.
Watch two short videos about Hangzhou Asian Games and talk about what sports the students like.
Purpose:1. It leads in our topic
2. attract Students’ attentions and interests in grammar learning and lay a foundation for the next step.
Step 2 Presentation
Play a game: Ask students some questions by using some real items, through this section , the basic sentence pattern will be presented.
Explain the usage of have/has.
Let’s chant
Purpose: proficient in using have/has
Explain the usage of do/does
Finish 3a in the textbook
Finish 3b in the textbook
Pair work
Purpose: help students master the point do/does
Game: join words into sentences, this game helped the students learn to change statements into general question sentences. The teacher gave the students six target sentences to master.
Induce the usage of general question sentences.
Translate Grammar Focus in the textbook: ask the students translate the sentences one by one.
Purpose: make students understand the right order of general question sentences and the usage of the third person singular.
Step 3 Practice
Squared up: Students choose a number from one to nine to get their exercises.
Step 4 Consolidation
1.Finish 3c in the textbook.
2.The teacher help students consolidate by working in groups.
Survey and report: This activity is a group work, it can not only help students consolidate what they have learnt in today’s lesson, but it also can develop team spirit of students.
Step 5 Conclusion
We help Ss summarize what we have learnt today.
Step 6 Homework
Our teacher designed three kinds of homework, students can choose different one according to their actual situation.
Homework is necessary to help students in different levels.
Blackboard design:
Present the text key contests clearly .
Teaching reflection:
In this lesson , what we designed (not only the presentation of the main teaching points ,but also the activities) attract the pupils interests .They learn and practice while playing activities.
However, students were not given enough time to think deeply, and more chances of presentation should be offered to other students.
