1、At the moment, Mike and Clare are in Cairo in Egypt, one of the biggest and busiest cities in Africa.
现在，麦克和克莱尔在埃及的开罗，它是非洲最大最繁忙的城市之一。
one of+名词复数，谓语动词用单数
One of the apples has gone bad.
有一个苹果坏了。
one of+形容词最高级+名词复数，谓语动词用单数。
Kobe Bryant is one of the greatest basketball players in the world.
科比 布莱恩特是世界上最伟大的篮球运动员之一。
2、They have been to many interesting places.
他们去过很多有趣的地方
have/has been to 表示“已经去过某地”
have/has gone to 表示“已经去了某地”
I have been to Shanghai.
我已经去过上海了。（此时已经回来了）
She has gone to Shanghai.
她已经去上海了。（此时已经在去上海的路上或已经到达上海）
3.find it+adj.+to do，在此结构中it作形式宾语，后面的to do才是真正的宾语。在本句中，to spell and pronounce the words是真正的宾语。
He found it easy to earn extra money.
他发现赚点额外收入是容易的。
I find it difficult to learn English well。
我发现学好英语很难。
4、So far they have learnt to speak German, French, Chinese and Arabic.
到目前为止，他们学过德语，法语，汉语和阿拉伯语。
so far表示“到目前为止”“至今”（=until now），谓语动词多用现在完成时
5. They are counting down the days.
他们正在倒计时。
count down表示“倒数，倒计时”
We are counting down the days until the end of this semester.
我们正在进行期末倒计时。
count表示“计数，计算”
