Crested ibises（朱鹮)are one of the oldest birds in the world. They live in Asia. People call them the"oriental gem”（东方宝石）.These beautiful birds almost disappeared(消失).But in 1981, Chinese scientists found seven of them in the wild(在野外) and saved them from disappearing.
May 23, 2021 was the 40th anniversary(周年纪念日)of the comeback of the birds.Here is a story of them.
There were once lots of crested ibises in Asia.But in the
1960s.because of pollution（污染）and other human activities.there were few crested ibises left. Chinese scientists were worried the crested ibises would die out, so they looked for them in the wild. It took them about three years to look for the birds in many places. At last, Liu Yinzeng and his team found seven crested ibises in Hanzhong on May 23, 1981. They saw something like a crested ibis flying across the sky. They ran after it. Luckily, they found it in a forest.Later,they found 6 more crested ibises.
After that, scientists started studying and protecting the birds.They asked people not to kill the birds or cut down the trees. They also helped the birds to get more babies. Over the past 40 years ,people have seen the number of the crested ibises grows from 7 to over 5,000.

We learned “be going to” and “will” can be used to talk about future events. But what are the differences
(1)be going to 表示近期就要发生的事情，will 表示较远的将来时间
要发生的事情。

(2) be going to 含有计划、准备的意思，will则没有此意。
He is going to see her tomorrow. 他打算明天去看她。
(3)表示有迹象表明要发生某事，用be going to，不用 will。
