Create a conflict to make your story interesting.
Sample writing
The Twins
Mr. and Mrs. Chen live in a flat. They have a twin daughter and a twin son , Nancy and Victor . The two children disagree about everything and always argue. One day, Mr. Chen was at work and Mrs. Chen went to the supermarket to buy some vegetables . Nancy and Victor stayed at home.
They started to argue about what TV programmes to watch. Nancy wanted to watch cartoons but Victor wanted to watch sports programmes. Soon, they got angry with each other .Victor threw the remote control onto the table and it fell onto Nancy’s foot.
At that moment, Mrs. Chen came back home and saw everything. She told her children to get along well with each other and love each other. Nancy and Victor both said sorry to their mother and promised not to argue with each other. Mother got a smile on her face.

Language points
The twins saw three men in police uniforms coming out of the building with guns in their hands. 双胞胎看到三个穿警服的人手里拿着枪走出大楼。
(1)see sb. doing sth. 意为“看见某人正在做某事”,表示看到的动作正在进行。
I saw a boy running towards me at that moment.
那时我看见一个男孩向我跑来。
【拓展】see sb. do sth.意为“看见某人做某事”,表示看到的动作已经完成或
者经常发生,强调动作的整个过程。
I often hear her sing in the next room.
我经常听到她在隔壁房间唱歌。
(2)in police uniforms 意为“穿着警服”。 in 用作介词,后跟服装或颜色,表示“穿着某种颜色的衣服”,在句中常作后置定语。
Do you know the girl in a yellow dress 你认识穿黄裙子的女孩吗?
(3) with guns in their hands 意为“手里拿着枪”。此处with构成的介词短语,用作伴随状语。
The girl walked to the classroom with some books in her hand.

2. They ran towards the three men and tried to stop them from leaving.
stop sb. from (doing) sth. 表示“阻止某人做某事”。
相当于:
prevent sb. from (doing) sth.
keep sb. from doing sth.
