合性试题,它考查的知识面广、覆盖面大、综合性强、灵活度
高。它不仅能客观地反映出学生的知识水平,而且能反映出学
生的阅读能力、语言运用能力、逻辑推理能力和分析判断能力。
它要求学生既要运用自己所学的词汇、习惯用语、固定搭配、
语法、句法等基础知识妥善地处理好每个单句、理解语义,又
要处理好单句之间与全文之间的内在联系。 完形填空题的题型有多种形式,目前大多数考试采用的完
形填空题一般是从四个所给答案中选择一个最佳答案的这种形
式。其题量多为一篇词数 200 左右的短文和 10—15 个单项选择
的小题。其选材多数是故事性的短文,也有科普文章、人物传
记、社会文化等一类的文章。由于这些文章涉及面广,所以要
求学生既要有比较扎实的英语基础知识,还要有一定的社会科
学常识。1.读通全文,了解大意 完形填空题不同于单项选择填空题,它所给的是一篇意思
完整的短文,所选的答案处在整段或整篇文章当中。做完形填
空时,一定要先通读一遍全文,对全文内容、作者观点和态度、
文体等各方面有一个宏观了解。切勿为了“省时”而边看边填,
否则一定是欲速则不达,因为这样不仅失误率高,且费时不少。
通读中要重视文章首句,因为首句往往是探索短文全貌的“窗
口”,常常点明了全文的中心思想,对理解文章影响很大。通
读全文时,应采用快速阅读法,如遇到个别生词,要么通过上
下文或构词法猜测其意,要么暂时略过,不必进行字斟句酌的
精读。2.逐句细读,边读边选 通读全文后就可以在细读的基础上完成填空了。这时要细
心谨慎,逐句地细读和分析,每填一空都要注意形义恰当和前
后照应。做题时要善于发现和利用文中的信息句,从字里行间
寻求启示。因为词与词、句与句之间都是靠一定语法关系和固
定词语的搭配而联系在一起的,所以可以根据上下文的语意来
选择与前后句有联系的名词、动词、介词、形容词或副词等。
在选择中应遵循先易后难的原则,对有把握的选项可一锤定音,
如果遇到一时难以确定的答案可先不填,先去做后面的或有把
握的,待填完其他空白后,再回过头来做前面的,有时前后空
白会形成互相提示和补充的情况。3.重读全文,核实答案 所有的答案选出之后,应再读全文,对所选的答案进行核
实调整。经过第二步逐句推敲之后,对短文内容的理解更为深
刻。在第二步时有些难解或误解的问题就很容易暴露出来,从
而也能得到更好的解决。第三章 完形填空
