【教材分析】：
本课主要学习讲述关于某个地方或某件事物的情况，讲述某个地方的地理位置和相关的基本信息。教学内容围绕着主人公 Daming 从中国来到美国，和他的表哥 Simon 谈论中国和美国的一些事物和一些地方的情况，以地理位置和相关的基本信息为主线,引出主要知识而展开的一系列对话和练习活动。教学的重心应放在如何让学生用本模块主要句型:

【教学过程】：
（一）导入：老师热情地问候学生们，用 chant 调动气氛。看长城的视频，回答问题导入课文。
（二）探究新知：
1.让学生看书，听听 Daming 和 Simon 的对话，听完之后，让学生说一说：

2.再放录音，让学生勾出文中的重要信息，引导学生回答以下问题：Listen, read and match

3.让学生打开书，放录音，学生边听边看书，勾画出课文中的生词。 教师讲解单词：

【课后反思】：
教学外研版六年级上册第一模块第一单元 Its more than twenty thousand kilometers long 时，教学新单词，thousand 的发音不太准确，后反复操练了几次很有进步，后在文中反复操练，巩固时特别注意了这个单词的发音。这个单元主要的就是要掌握怎样介绍长城。谈论纽约和北京;学会用 How long(多长)和How big(多大)来提问的特殊疑问句。我通过课文和图片展示了重点难点，要求学生会用数字表达

How long\ big is it 学生在这时握的还不够熟悉，后通过展示图片(标示出大小和长度)，让学生分组练习介绍它们，再推选学生作为代表展示成果，回答得最好的一组加一颗星，提高学生学习英语的兴趣，学生基本上是掌握了知识目标。
