学习能力:能整理、归纳所学内容,把握重点和难点;能主动反思自己英语学习中的进步与不足。
教学重难点
教学重点:熟练拼写和运用课堂词汇,使用“by+doing”结构
教学难点:掌握和学会在日常生活中运用句型。
课前准备:多媒体,黑板,粉笔
教学过程:
Leading-in
T: There will be an English test this Friday morning. Can you tell me how you study for a test
Then show some pictures on PPT and help the students talk about them and learn to say “by + doing” phrases such as by working with friends, by making word cards, by reading the text book, by listening to tapes, by asking the teacher for help.etc.
二、Presentation
教学1a
Ask the students to complete la (add other ways they sometimes study), individually first. then check their answers in groups.
教学lb
Play the recording for the students to listen to and complete lb. Play it again if necessary, then check the answers together.
教学1c
The teacher asks two students to read the conversation in lc to the class. Then ask them to do the pair work to make other conversations. After that some pairs should be asked to present their conversations to the class
教学2a&2b
1. Ask the students to read the questions in 2a. Make sure they can understand the meaning of each question. Then the students listen and check the questions they hear. Play the recording 2 or 3 times if necessary, then check the answers
2. The students read the sentences in 2b individually. Then listen and match each answer with a question in 2a. They should be given enough time to complete it
角色扮演2c
Ask two or three pairs to read the model conversation to the class. Then ask the students to do the pair work to make their own conversations using the information in 2a and 2b.

B:Yes,I have. I've learned a lot that way.
三、Reading
3a.
T:Just now you talked about your trouble in study. Now please read the article about Wei Fen's problems in study. And find the answers to the following questions.
Ql:Why did Wei Fen find it difficult to learn English
Q2:What did she do in English class
Q3:What is the secret to language learning
Make the students understand the meanings of the questions, then let them read the article in 3a and find the answers to the questions.
Al:Because she didn't understand what the teacher said. And she was afraid to ask questions because of her poor pronunciation.
A2:She just hid behind her textbook and never said anything.
A3:The secret of language learning is listening to something interesting.
3b. Ask the students to read the sentences in 3b firstly, and then read the article again, very carefully. Complete the sentences individually,using the words and phrases from the passage. Check the answers together.

四、Language Points
“by+动词-ing形式”表方式、方法
“by+动词-ing形式”在句子中作状语,表示方式方法等,by在此结构中有“通过,借助,用(某种方式或方法)”等含义。此外,“by+动词-ing形式”常用来回答how引导的特殊疑问句。
例:Mr.Green makes a living by teaching.格林先生以教书为生。

—I learn by watching English movies我通过观看英文电影学习。
(1)“by+表示交通工具的名词(名词前不加冠词)”意为“乘/驾驶/坐……”
I went to Beijing by train我乘火车去的北京
Wang Ling often goes to school by bike.王玲经常骑自行车去上学。
(2)“by+时间"意为“不迟于;在……之前”。
I must get to school by 7:30. 我必须在7:30之前到校。
(3)“by+ 地点”意为“在……旁边;经过……"
We live by the sea我们住在海边。
They came in by the back door.他们从后门进来了
(4)“by+人"意为“由某人创作”。
I read a play by Shakespeare. 我读了一部莎士比亚写的戏剧。

with表示使用某种工具、身体部位等
in表示用某种语言、材料等
He improved his listening by listening to English songs.他通过听英文歌曲提高了听力。
Cut it with a knife.用刀把它切开。

She is writing in ink.她正在用钢笔写字。
五、Practice
4a、4b&4c
1. Ask the students to read questions and answers in 4a.Make sure they can understand the meaning of each sentence. Then let the students match the questions and answers.
2. Ask the students to complete 4b individually. Then check the answers in pairs or in groups. Ask some students to present their sentences to the class.
3. Ask the students to interview their partners to complete the table in 4c. Then ask some pairs to present their conversations to the class.
