The definition and structure of passive voice
Definition:
当句子的主语和谓语动词构成被动的关系时（即主语为动作的承受者时）, 该句常常使用被动语态的结构。
Structure:
主语+be+done(过去分词)
Active: Many people speak English around the world.

Some key points about passive voice
1) 不及物动词或不及物动词短语，如happen, take place, appear, disappear, come out, come true等。
1. 主动表被动的情况：
2) 某些表示感官的系动词, 如look, sound, smell, taste, feel等。
This kind of food tastes delicious.

3) 当表示主语的特征时, 谓语动词如open, sell, wash, lock等可用主动表被动。
The door won’t open.

2. 许多谓语动词在使用主动语态时要省略搭配使用的不定时符号to, 但在使用被动语态时需要把to加上，即为“主动省to，被动还to”，这类谓语动词主要是“一感二听三让五看半帮助”。
