Teaching objectives Language ability At the end of this class, students will be able to master some words, phrases and the structure of “How often do you do sth ”,at the same time,they will be able to ask and answer the “How often...” question by using adverbs and phrases of adverbsfrequency.
Cultural awareness At the end of this class, students will be able to have correct understanding of their daily life activities,and they will pay more attention to their health.
Thinking quality Through the setting of scenarios and the development of activities, students are guided to learn the language actively in the experience, practice, participation, cooperation and communication, at the same time,they will experience the joy of learning, this will inspire their enthusiasm and interest in English learning.
Learning ability At the end of this class, students will be able to improve their listening and speaking strategies and cooperate with other students.
Important points: 1. Students can know, speak and use the structure: How often do you do sth. 2. Use the phrases that express daily activities: watch TV, shop, go shopping, exercise, read and exercise.
Difficult points 1.The frequency adverbs: always ( 100% ) >usually ( 80% ) >often ( 60% )>sometimes ( 40% )> hardly ever ( 5% )>never ( 0% ) 2.Develop correct values
教学过程 Teacher’s Activities Students’ Activities Intention
Step1 Lead-in Greeting. Free talk “Do you like weekends ” “What do you usually do on weekends ” Students talk about their weekend activities. Letstudents relax themselves, make the class active and inspire them to say something about their activities on weekends.
Step2 Pre-listening Task1:Show some pictures teach the phrases about activities. Task2:Play a video about adverbs frequency, then explain the frequency. Task3:play games of adverbs frequency Task4:Work on 1a Let students look at the picture in 1a and discuss what those children usually do on weekends ,then make a list of their weekend activities and then check the answers. Task1:Students look at the pictures and learn the new phrases, Task2:Students learn and master frequency Task3: Play gamesto master the adverbs frequency. Task4:Work on 1a Discuss what those children usually do onweekend , then make a list of their weekend activities . Bymaking activities list,students consolidate the new words and phrases, at the same time, it doesa good groundwork for the next step.
Step3 While- listening Work on 1b 1.Let students look through the pictures again,and pay attention to the frequency words in 1b. 2.Play the recording,and ask students to write the activities next to the correct frequency words,then check the answers in class. 3.Play the recording again, and ask students to write down the frequency adverbs. Students listen the recording and finish the listening tasks, then check answers。 Improve students’ listening skills, and do a good groundworkfor making conversation .
Step 4 Post-listening Task1:Pair-work(1c) 1.Ask students to make their own conversations in 1c,then act out their conversations in front of the class. Students practicefor2 minutes and 3 or 4 of them can have the chance to share their outcome. Consolidatethe usageof adverbs frequency, and improves students’ spoken English.
Step5Extension Do a survey then share it. Ask students to work in groups to do a survey about their classmates’ activities, then write their own sentences. Students do a survey about their classmates weekend,then share it. Expand students’ thinking quality.
Step 6 Summary Summarize the adverbs frequency. Students review the new knowledge following T Consolidate the knowledge of this lesson.
Homework 1.Go over the new words. 2.Give an example,then let students to talk about their and their classmates’ weekend activities by using the adverbs of frequency.

Teaching Reflection: This is a listening&speaking class. It takes weekend activities as its subject. Through the setting of scenarios and the development of activities, students are guided to learn the language actively in the experience, practice, participation, cooperation and communication,most of them can use targets languages to talk about their weekend activities, However, there are still some pities left in this class. For example ,I didn’t pay attention to each student during the activities. Meanwhile,I think it would be better if we do more listening exercise. ...
