C(2021·广东广州天河区一模改编)
How do you feel about nature After spending hours indoors, do you feel better when you visit your local park I believe the answer must be"YES".
However, humans are spending more time inside and less time outside. For example, the number of visitors to Canada's national parks is getting smaller every year. And in some countries such as the USA, only 10% of teenagers spend time outside every day. Many doctors feel that this is a problem in the 21st century.
Therefore, some doctors are studying the connection between nature and health. One example is the study of Dr.Matilda in Sweden. The doctor gave people a math test. During the test, their heart rates (心率) were fast. After the test, one group of people sat in a 3D virtual-reality (虚拟现实) room for fifteen minutes with pictures and sounds of nature. Their heart rates were slower than those people's in the other group. The virtual touch with nature helped them feel more relaxed. The natural world allows our brains to rest and slow down, and can leave us feeling happier and less stressed.
Because of studies like this, some countries and cities are rebuilding nature. In Dubai, people plan to build a new shopping mall with a large garden, so shoppers can relax outside with trees and flowers. And South Korea has new forests near its cities and people visit these forests every year. In Switzerland, "forest schools" are popular. School children study their subjects in the forests and exercise a lot outside.
In a word, nature holds a special kind of energy. It is clean and wild, which makes us grow stronger. ▲

Qomolangma is the third mountain of the Himalayas, so people call it the Third God Mountain in Tibetan language.
Qomolangma is very famous and it is higher than any other mountain in the world. Its newest height is 8,848.86 meters. At the height of 8,000 meters, there is only 30% O2 and the human body can only stand this height for a few days, so it is dangerous for humans to climb higher. But many climbers want to challenge themselves. As Alan Arnette, a mountain climber from America, said "Climbing mountains drives you to look deep inside yourself, and lets you find out whether you are strong enough in mind when you want to stop."
It's a good thing that Qomolangma gives people a chance to become strong-willed(意志坚强的)when they are trying to achieve their dreams. However, Qomolangma is in danger these years because many people leave their waste behind, such as water bottles and plastic bags. They cause the environmental pollution for Qomolangma. Many animals would die after eating the plastic bags. Luckily, many volunteers from all over the world came to Qomolangma to join in the clean-up activity. In 1992, Wang Chengbang retired(退休)from the army. Instead of enjoying a relaxing life, he volunteered to save the soil from desertification(沙漠化)by planting trees in Korla(库尔勒), Xinjiang.
It is not an easy job. The high temperature in Korla makes it difficult for anyone to work day after day in the sunshine. Besides, water is a big problem. In fact, Wang Chengbang's work in the first few years failed as very few trees survived(存活).
But Wang Chengbang would not give up. "After trying many different ways, I have learned how to grow young trees in a better way," said Wang Chengbang. He also worked out new ways to save water. With his hard work, more and more trees have survived. So far, he has planted more than 1 million trees. Those green trees prevent desertification, make the air cleaner and protect people from the hot sun. Now, Korla is a model city in environmental protection.
Wang Chengbang is also successful in fighting cancer(癌症). In 2005, he had cancer and was told that he had only six months to live. However, he continued taking care of his trees rather than lying on the hospital bed. "Working is the best medicine. Planting trees helps to fight cancer," he often jokes.
