Teaching Aims
According to the new curriculum standard of 2022 and the syllabus (新课程标准和教学大纲), and after studying the teaching material, the teaching aims are the followings: 1. Aims on knowledge (1)To let students master the usage of the important words and expressions: same, love, with, them, only, like, easy, after class, classmate (2)To let students use have/has to talk about ownership 2. Aims on ability (1) To improve students’ reading ability, especially their skimming and scanning ability. (2) To train students’ abilities of studying by themselves and cooperating. 3. Aims on emotion (1)To develop a suitable sports hobby and make students love sports, enjoy life.
Teaching Difficulties
1.)Students can master the words and sentences of the lesson. 2.)Students can understand the main idea of the passage. 3.) Students can improve their reading ability. 4.) Students can increase their interest in sports and enjoy life. 5.) Students can make suggestions and express their own opinions.
Teaching methods and learning strategies
As is known to us all, a good teaching method requires that the teacher should help students develop good sense of the English language. For achieving these teaching goals, I will use the following methods according to the modern social communication teaching theories(现代社会交际教学理论) . 1. Communicative Approach(交际教学法) 2. Whole Language Teaching(整体语言教学法) 3. Task-based Language Teaching (任务教学法) 4. Situational Action (情景教学) Learning strategies: Brainstorming, reading skills, cooperation, mind map, retell

Step 1 Lead- in Look at the pictures and talk about some sports ask and answer. Who is he What does he like Brainstorming What sports do you have/don't you have Question can arouse students’ interests. Brainstorming lets students review and memorize the learnt words together.The lead-in activities should be as concise, efficient and targeted as possible, and can combine students' relevant background knowledge in a short time to stimulate students' thirst for knowledge.
Step2 Pre-reading Look at the title and pictures then predict what you will read about. Tip 1 : The title can be helpful to understand the text. (标题有助于理解文章) Tip 2 : The pictures can be helpful to understand the text. (图片有助于理解文章) Teachers should emphasize the penetration of reading skills in the process of guidance .This will stimulate students' thinking ability.
Step3 While-reading: Skimming Read the survey results in a school magazine and answer the question: Who has a soccer ball Tip3: The first sentence can be helpful to understand the text. Students are encouraged to read the passage independently and suddenly for the first time.through group work.It is like doing the reading part in the exams.

Because of Double Reduction Policy,layering homework helps students learn more about what they can learn on their own level, gain a sense of success and pride in learning, and make students more motivated to learn.

Good afternoon, my dear judges and friends! I’m candidate No.5. It’s my great honor to be here to show my teaching presentation. My teaching material is Unit 5 Do you have a soccer ball1 Section B 2a-2c of PEP ”Go for it” Grade 7 Book 1. I’ll express it from seven aspects. They are analysis of the teaching material, analysis of the students, teaching aims. Teaching key and difficult points, teaching methods and learning strategies, teaching procedures, teaching evaluation and reflection.
Part 1: Analysis of the teaching material:
The topic of unit 5 is sports, it is close to our daily life, so it can easily arouse the students’ interests. This lesson is a reading part, it is a very important one in this unit because it focus on the students' abilities to gather information; deal with information; solve problems and the abilities to think and express in English. Meanwhile, as we all know, reading belongs to language input during the process of language learning. In this part, students can get some language input from the passage and it will help them output what they have learned well in the following writing part.
Part 2. Analysis of the students
In the previous study, students have already learned many kinds of balls, use “have/has” to present ownership and the general question of verb “have”. But Students may not be clear about the correct use of verbs in general question, especially the third-person singular form of verbs. So it’s necessary to strengthen what they have learned by reading input.
Part 3: Teaching Aims
According to the new curriculum standard of 2022 and the syllabus (新课程标准和教学大纲), and after analysing the teaching material and the students, the teaching aims are the followings:
Aims on knowledge
By the end of class, students will be able to:
(1) master the key words and expressions: such as same, love, with, them, only, like, easy, after class, classmate

(1) To improve the student’s reading ability, especially their skimming and scanning ability.

Part 6: Teaching Procedures
Step 1. Lead-in. (3 min)
Activity: Show some pictures of three famous sports stars.The pictures can lead in the topic of this lesson---sports. Then the teacher showssome words of sports things.Students have a brainstorm to review the words of balls.
Purpose:arouse students’ interests.
Brainstorm let students review and memorize the learnt words together
Step 2. Pre-reading
Activity: Look at the title and pictures then predict what you will read about.
Purpose: Help students pay attention to understanding the reading text by looking at the title and pictures.
Step 3. While-reading
Activity 1: Fast reading -Skimming
Read the survey results in a schoolmagazine fast and answer the question: Who has a soccer ball
Purpose: Help students learn to get information from the first sentence of each paragraph.
Activity 2: Careful reading
Guide Students to read the passage carefully one by one and then do some exercises.
purpose: Enable students to understand the given material better by using different reading skills. And proper competition can arouse the Ss’ interest in English learning. “Task-based” teaching method is used here to develop the students’ ability of communication and also their ability of co-operation will be well trained.
Step 4. Post-reading
Activity 1 : Ask students to finish 2c according to their notes.
Purpose:Strengthen what they have learned in class
Activity 2Give a mind map with some blanks, let students finish it with their group and then retell the passage according to the chart.
Purpose: Consolidate what they have learned and practice their spoken language.
Step 5. At last, the teacher plays a video about a soccer game, let students enjoy it
Purpose: encourage students to go out of the classroom, love sports and enjoy life, this activity is a sublimation of the emotional content of this lesson.
Step 7: Summary and Homework
Level 1: 1. Try to remember the key words and phrases.

Level 2: 1. Do a survey among your classmates then
make a report in the next class.

Purpose:Divide the homework in two levels according to students’ actual learning effect. It will check whether the Students achieve the teaching aims or not.
