Good afternoon, dear judges and teachers! I’m the fourteenth competitor. It’s my great honor to be here to share my teaching designing with you. My teaching topic is Unit 6 I’m going to study computer science.Section B 2a-2b. I’ll introduce it by eight parts.

PartⅠ The analysis of teaching materials
Section B is the second part of this unit. In 2a-2b, Ss have to learn some new words and do some reading .The topic of this lesson is making resolutions. Such topic is related to our daily life. It’s helpful to arouse Ss’learning interest. This lesson is in Section B, if students learn it well, they can not only master the simple future tense, but also learn to make resolutions. And meanwhile, their reading skills will be improved.
Part Ⅱ The analysis of students
The students in my class have learnt English for about five years, they know some words and reading skills. But some of them are poor at English. They can’t even understand simple English. They don’t like remembering words, they are afraid of reading passages. However, almost all of them show great interests in English learning. They are so active in class , so taking on this point, I’ll prepare some videos and mind maps to attract them to participate in class learning, and help them to improve their reading ability.
Part Ⅲ The analysis of teaching aims
Based on the analysis of the teaching materials and students, the teaching aims of this class include these knowledge aims, ability aims and emotional aims.
★ Knowledge aims are to:
1.study the key vocabulary.
2.make students know how to use the target language.
3.make resolutions.
★Ability aims include:
1.developing students’ listening and speaking skills
2. training students’ reading skills( improve their reading ability by catching the key sentences and detailed information)
3. improving students’ ability of communication by learning the useful structures.
★ Emotional aims are to enable students to:
1.be able to make their future plans and get them to know they should make efforts to achieve their resolutions.
2. be positive about themselves and establish healthy and positive life goals.
Part Ⅳ The analysis of teaching importance and difficulties
★ Teaching importance:

1. Students can master the key words, phrases and sentences.
2. Students can make resolutions with the simple future tense.
3.Students can master the reading strategies and improve their reading abilities.

Now let’s move to the most important part--the analysis of teaching procedures. My teaching procedures can be divided into 6 steps.
Step1 lead in.
Step2 Pre-leading (2a).
Step 3 While-reading (2b).
Step 4 Post-reading (practice).
Step 5 Summary .
Step 6 Homework.
★Step 1 Lead in .( 3 minutes)
Greet students as usual.
Show the new words and phrases,students read the new words loudly,then use the apple pictures to check the new words. Watch a video about new year’s resolutions .
(Purpose: Learning the words can help students better understand the passage. The video can draw students’ attention, to make students have a sense of what New Year's resolutions are before they read the following passage.)
★Step 2 Pre-reading (2a) (3 minutes).
After watching the video, guide the students to discuss the following questions:
Did you make any resolutions last year
Were you able to keep them Why or why not
(Purpose: This step can arouse students' interest in learning the following
passage and get prepared before they begin to read.)
★Step 3 While-reading (2b) (15minutes).
Skimming
Ask students to find the main idea of each paragraph by reading the first sentences and key sentences of each paragraph.
Paragraph 1: To give the meaning of resolution.
Paragraph 2: To discuss the different kinds of resolutions
Paragraph 3: To question the idea of making resolutions.
Scanning
Ask students to read the whole passage quickly and finish 2b, put the sentences (A-D) in the
correct places. Show the reading strategies on the screen, students learn it and finish 2b。Then, check the answers.
Careful-reading
Task 1
Students listen to paragraph 1, and finish the mind map about resolutions.

What is the most common kind of resolution
When to make resolutions
Why to make resolutions
How to keep resolutions
Then, check the answers with the students.
Task 2
Students read paragraph 2 carefully, and find the three kinds of resolutions.
Some are about physical health.
Many have to do with self-improvement.
Some resolutions have to do with better planning.
Task 3
Students stand up and read paragraph 3 together, and find out why it is hard to keep their resolutions.
Reason 1: Sometimes the resolutions may be too difficult to keep.
Reason 2: People just forget about them.
(Purpose: Different ways of reading the passage can help students not only to understand the passage but also to develop students’ fast reading and careful reading abilities. )
★Step 4 Post-reading (practice)(5 minutes)
a. Watch a short video together-New Year’s Resolution.
b.Students practice the dialogue in groups.

---How will you keep them

c. Show time: Invite some groups to show their conversations.
(Purpose:Through the practice, students’ speaking ability to talk about their New Year’s Resolutions can be trained, and the atmosphere in class can be activated. )
★Step 5 Summary (3 minutes)
The teacher lead students to review and summarize what they have learned.
(Purpose: Make students review the content learned in this lesson and deepen their impression of the new knowledge. )
★Step 6 Homework (1 minute)
Task 1: Choose one you like
Design four levels of homework, students choose the homework by themselves and finish it .
(Purpose: It is good for the students to design different levels of homework, it can build the students’ confidence in learning)

This kind of blackboard designing can make it clear what we have learned in this class, and it is good for students to take notes.
Part VIII Teaching reflecting
This is a reading class, it aims to improve the students’ reading skills. In this class, students learn to make resolutions by using “be going to” sentence structures. It is a little difficult for the students. And because of the limit of time , students need to read the passage loudly and further understand it in the next class.
