John Bramblitt is an artist who learned to see through his paintbrush. He got blind at the age of 30 because of epilepsy(癫痫). He had never even painted before that, but now his works are talked about around the world, and his experience is encouraging millions.
“When I first lost my sight I was really angry. I couldn't leave my home by my own. I couldn't read, I couldn't write anymore，” he said. Losing his sight was a turning point in his life. He calls it “the deepest, darkest hole”. But he finally climbed out of that hole by picking up the paintbrush.
During the course of painting, he realized that every shade of colour has its own special textures(质地). He found out how to mix colours by feeling the differences between textures in the oils. Through just his touch, he can see his subjects.
