2. 比较级前可修饰的词：a bit，a little,a lot,even,far,much,many,slightly,still。{注意：当more后面+可数名词复数时，不能用much修饰，而用many或far}

5. Of a/an+n 相当于一个形容词，表示具有后面那个名词的性质，可以用：as much/little of a/an+n+as分句；more/less of a/an +n+than 分句。
What he told us was more of an illusion than a reality. 他告诉我们的事情更像是一种幻觉，而不是现实。

6.倍数表达法：先说倍数，然后……
1倍(once) 2倍(twice) 3倍以上(···times)
1、······倍数 + as + 原级 + as······
This room is three times as big as that one.
2、······倍数 + 比较级 + than······
This room is three times bigger than that one.
3、······倍数 + the +名词 + of ·····
This room is three times the size of that one.

7. 带than的特殊结构
1)More A than B或者rather A than B 与其说是B，不如说是A；
I know you said it's sugary, but it tastes more bitter than sweet.
（我知道你说这东西很甜，但与其说甜，它其实是苦。）
2)Less .....than ....或者not so much.... as ..... 比... 少
She visits us less frequently than she used to.
＝She does not visit us so frequently as she used to.
她不像过去那样常来看我们。
3）None other than...不是别的...正是...
The leggy beauty was none other than Naomi Campbell.
这位长腿美女不是别人，正是娜奥米·坎贝尔。
Respect for none other than you is an inflated ego. 只尊重自己的人是骄傲自负的。
4）no other...than 除了...之外，没有，只有
Dog is no other than dog, never can be the tiger - fight wolf.
狗就是狗!永远也成不了敢斗虎的狼.

5)No more than仅仅，只不过
This room is no bigger than that one.
这个房间并不比那个房间大多少。（两间房一样都不大）
This room is not bigger than that one.
这个房间并不比那个房间大。
He is no less hardworking than his brother，but he failed in the exam.
他和他哥哥一样努力，但是他没有通过考试。（no less...than...这个结构并不在两者之间进行比较，而强调“两者都...，与...一样”）

8. 隐含比较意义的形式，这类形式常以介词to进行比较。
常见：senior to（比...年长，比...地位高）；junior to（比...年少，比...级别低）；prefer to（更喜欢，宁愿）；superior to（比...优越）；inferior to（比...差，低于...的）；prior to（在...之前）
She is three years junior to me. 她比我小三岁。
This candidate is clearly superior to others. 这个候选人显然优于其他候选人
比较级的综合用法
9)可用the +比较级形式+of the two…来表达两者之间的比较。
He is the better of the two 他是两人中较好的.
Mr. Brown is the stronger of the two.
old的比较级形式有older和elder。elder只用于兄弟姐妹的长幼关系。例如：
My elder brother is a famous artist. 我哥哥是一名有名的艺术家。
（4）far的比较级形式有farther和further。一般farther表示距离，而further表示更进一步。例如：
I have nothing further to say.　我没有什么要说的了。

4.比较级+than+ any+名词单数
意为“比任何...都...” （不同范围内作比较）
例如：中国比非洲任何一个国家都大。（不同范围——中国不属于非洲）
China is larger than any country in Africa.
Tom比班里任何一个女孩都高。
Tom is taller than any girl in his class.
（不同范围——Tom不属于班级女生这个范围）

5.否定词与比较级连用
Nothing is more attractive than reading.
没有什么比阅读更吸引人的了。

6... the + 序数词 + 形容词最高级 + 名词复数，
意为“第几最...的”。
The Yellow River is the second longest river in China.

意为“这是最……”。
