Choose an animal in danger and answer the questions.
What is the animal

Write a passage about an animal in danger. Use your answers in Activity 5 and the following example to help you.
Pandas live in Southeast China. They are in danger and the situation is getting very difficult.
First, pandas do not have many babies, and baby pandas often die. Second, pandas eat bamboo, but the bamboo forests are getting smaller. So the government is setting up nature parks with a lot of bamboo to help protect pandas.
Language Points
1. They mainly live on bamboo, and each panda needs to eat a lot of bamboo every day.
它们以竹子为主食，每只熊猫每天需 要吃很多竹子。
(1) live on 后接名词，同义词组是 live by doing sth. 靠……为生。
on 在短语中的意思是“依赖”。
(2) every 和 each 的区别。
every “每”“各”，指三者或三者以上的整体，含有全体之意。
Every boy is here. 所有男孩都在这儿。
each “每一”“每个”，指两个或两个以上的每一个，着重于个别，如团体中一个的人或物。
He spoke to each member of the team.
他和该队的每个队员说了话。
2. ..., so pandas have less and less land to live on.
..., 因此熊猫只有越来越少的地方 可以依靠。
less 是little 比较级，修饰不可数名词。这种结构为“比较级+and+比较级”，表示“越来越……”
The kite flies higher and higher.
风筝飞得越来越高。
加more变成比较级的形容词或副词，使用这个结构时应为：
more and more + 形容词/副词。
3. The government has made a new plan to help pandas.
政府已经制定了一项新的计划帮助熊猫。
短语中的plan是名词，make a plan 是“制定计划”。
plan 还可作动词用，plan to do sth.“计划干某事”。
4. Then the pandas will have enough food to eat and enough places to live in.
到那时，熊猫将会有足够的食物吃和足够的地方居住。
enough “足够的”，作形容词时一般修饰名词，可放在名词前，也可放在其后；
作副词时，常用来修饰形容词和副词，放在被修饰词的后面。
He runs fast enough. 他跑得够快了。
