On that day, an important event happened. A terrible earthquake happened in WenChuan.
Over 40,000 people were killed in the earthquake .

I was having dinner when my friend called me and told me about the news.
At first, I couldn’t believe it. Then I turned on the TV and watched the TV.
I was completely surprised(shocked) to hear the news.
