关于be afraid的用法。
、be afraid of sth.害怕某事\某物。例如：I am afraid of the dog. 我害怕狗。
、be afraid of doing sth. 害怕做某事。例如：I am afraid of taking the plane.我害怕乘坐飞机。
、be afraid to do sth.害怕做某事。例如：I am afraid to give a speech in front of our school. 我害怕在全校师生面前作报告。

关于used to的用法。
Used to ，表示“过去常常”，用于叙述过去的状态或者动作。Used to be+形容词，表示“过去...”，例如：I used to be shy.我过去很害羞。又如：I used to be short and thin.我过去又矮又瘦。
Used to do sth.表示“过去常做某事”，例如：I used to get up early.我过去起得很早。又如：I used to hate P.E. class.我过去讨厌体育课。
Be \ Get used to doing sth.表示“习惯做某事”，例如：I didn’t exercise in the past, but now I am used to exercising in the morning. 我过去不锻炼，但是现在我习惯早上锻炼了。
I used to be afraid of the dark. 我过去怕黑。
注意：used to后面接动词原形，表示“过去的事情”，不和in the past（在过去）连用。

注意句型的正确运用：It’s + 形容词 + ( for sb.) to dos th. 对某人来说，做某事是....的。例如：It’s necessary for us to make some good friends. 对于我们来说，交一些好朋友是有必要的。
