Language points
2. While the lights were changing to red, a car suddenly appeared round the corner. 当交通信号灯正要变红时,一辆小汽车突然出现在拐角处。
(1) appear动词,意为“出现;显露”。其反义词是disappear,意为“消失”。
The roads and the trees appeared from the dark in front of us.

 (2) round此处作介词,意为“转到(某物的)另一边”。

(1) 辨析:in time与on time

 (1) pay attention可以单独使用,意为“注意;留心”,用以引起警觉或注意。

 (2) pay attention to意为“注意……”,后面接要注意的事项。
