Step 1 Warm-up and lead in Greeting with the Ss. Let students repeat the numbers 0-9. Show the following clothes and prices on the screen and ask Ss: T: How much is the T-shirt S: It’s 8 dollars. T: How much are the shoes .... 4. Ss ask the price of clothes each other.
Step2. Listening(1a-1d) Ask students to listen to the recording and read after the tape in 1a. 2.Let Ss read together the numbers.Then correct the Ss’ pronunciation. 3. Let Ss find out the rules of the numbers. ① 13~19 规律:个位数字后加 teen;注意:thirteen, fifteen, eighteen的差别。 ② 21~29及31~39等数字的规律:twenty或thirty后加连字符,再加个位数 ③ 20、30等表示几十的数,大部分构成形式为:个位数后加ty,注意twenty, thirty, fifty等。 4.Finish 1b.Ask students to finish writing the numbers individually from 1a. and say out the wrong order. 5. Check the answers with Ss. 6. Work on 1c. Listen the tape and circle you heat numbers in 1a. 7. Teaching 1d. Let Ss look at the picture in 1d. Kate and her mother are talking about some clothes. Ask one student to name the items of clothing shown and point at the price tags and read them aloud. 8. Let Ss listen to the recording and check the thing Kate buys. 9. Check the answers with Ss. 10. Let the Ss read the listening material together.
Step 3.Pair work(1e) 1.Let Ss look at the pictures in 1d. Point to the white T- shirt and ask and answer with the sentence structure: How much is/are.. It’s/they are... E.g.: —How much is the white T- shirt —It’s eleven dollars. 2. Ss work in pairs. Ask and answer about the things in 1d’s picture. 3. Ask 2-3 group pairs to show the conversations.
【语法提要】 1. 基数词 (1)定义:表示数量的词叫基数词。 (2)基数词的表达。 ①0~12的基数词在拼写时要分别记忆。 ②13~19表示“十几”的词,要在个位后直接加teen。 ③20~90表示整十的基数词在末位数后加ty,但有些数应注意其拼写 2. 注意下列基数词的写法。 four(4)→fourteen(14)→forty(40) five(5)→fifteen(15)→fifty(50) eight(8)→eighteen(18)→eighty(80) twelve(12)→twenty(20)
