1. 指示代词用于介绍他人介绍一个人时，常用 This is/ That is... ；介绍多个人时，常用 These are / Those are... 。
That is Helen’s friend Jim. 那是 Helen 的朋友 Jim。
Those are my cousins. 那些是我的堂弟们。
2. 指示代词后 be 动词的形式 this, that 作主语时，be 动词用单数形式 is； these, those 作主语时，be 动词用复数形式 are，同时后面的名词也用复数形式。
This is my brother. 这是我的哥哥。
These are my brothers. 这些是我的兄弟们。
3. 指示代词作主语的疑问句回答在疑问句的答语中，常用 it 来代替问句中的 this/ that，用 they 来代替问句中的 these / those。
—Is this your basketball 这是你的篮球吗 —Yes, it is. 是的，它是。
—Are those your pencils 那些是你的铅笔吗
—No, they aren’t. 不，它们不是。
4. 电话用语用于打电话时，this 代表自己，that 代表对方。
—Hello! Is that John 喂! 你是 John 吗
—No, this is Lisa. 不，我是 Lisa。
指示代词的句型转换
1. 一个句子中，如果主语是“this/that/these/those+名词”，则该句子常可变换成指示代词作主语的句子。
This picture is Sally’s. = This is Sally’s picture. 这是萨莉的照片。
Those dogs are my cousin’s. = Those are my cousin’s dogs. 那些是我堂哥的狗。
2. 单数句变复数句的规则：
this变these，that变those；
be动词is变成are；
可数名词单数变为复数；
不定冠词 a/an 要去掉。
These are cats.
Those are erasers.
This is a cat.
That is an eraser.
可数名词的复数
(1)一般情况下在名词后面加-s。
pencil→pencils sister→sisters
(2)以辅音字母加y结尾的名词，先将y改为i，再加-es。
family→families
(3)以s, x, ch, sh结尾的名词，其后加-es。
watch→watches box→boxes(盒子)
(4)以f或fe结尾的名词，先将f或fe改为v，再加-es。
knife→knives(小刀) leaf→leaves(树叶)
(5)以o结尾的名词，“英雄、土豆、西红柿”加-es。
tomato→tomatoes(西红柿) hero→heros(英雄)
potato→potatoes(土豆)
(6)特殊情况。
man→men(男人) woman →women (女人) child→children(儿童)
who 引导的特殊疑问句
1) who是疑问代词，意为“谁”，常用在句首引导特殊疑问句，对人进行提问。
2) 上述三个特殊疑问句都是由“Who+be动词+主语 ”构成的。
3) 主语是单数时，be动词用is；主语是复数时，be动词用are。
—Who are the two girls 那两个女孩是谁？
—They’re Mary and Linda. 她们是玛丽和琳达。
