1. 整体设计思路、指导依据说明
《英语课程标准》有五个总目标共同构成,其中“文化意识”是其中之一,所以在本节课的设计中,尽可能多去涉及中国传统文化教育,学习Sun Wukong 永不放弃、乐于助人的精神。本节课一开始通过让学生听耳熟能详的儿歌“西游记”主题曲导入,激起学生学习的兴趣,由“孙悟空三打白骨棈”的动画设计来复习学习过的词汇,为下一步的阅读做好铺垫,从而引入Section A 3a—3c Sun Wukong 的学习。随后播放 Sun Wukong出世的视频,讨论Sun Wukong,学习单词。 随后通过Pre—reading、While--reading 和Post--reading 展开本课的学习。
2. 教学背景分析
教学内容分析 【What】总体来说,这是一篇记述文。作者根据《西游记》中的内容描写了本书在国内外受欢迎的原因及孙悟空的性格特征, 并评价了Sun Wukong。 【Why】 《西游记》是中国四大名著之一,学完本课,让学生了解并感受中国古典文化的魅力养成热爱读书的好习惯。同时也想让学生学习孙悟空乐于助人、永不放弃的精神,这也是《英语课程标准》中的“文化意识”目标之一。 【How】 本文以喜闻乐见的“孙悟空”为话题,一开始就把学生的思绪拉回到了快乐的童年时代,激起了学习的热情。本文从故事介绍、孙悟空的本领、该故事对孩子们的影响三个方面进行了书写,文章结构层次分明,作者使用了叙述性的语言,便于学生阅读、理解。 学生情况分析 在初中阶段,八年级起着承上启下的作用,经过初一阶段的学习,学生已经掌握了一些英语基础知识和学习英语的方法和技巧,学生正处于感性向理性的转型期,求知欲和表现参与意识很强,有一定的逻辑分析能力。但是,同学们之间的学差距较大,部分同学综合运用英语的能力还没形成,从英语文章中获取信息和利用英语表达自己的能力还有待提高。
3. 教学目标分析
1). 语言知识目标: ①学习掌握下列词汇:object,magic,stick,hide,tail,turn-into,excite,western 重点句子: This is because he can make 72 changes to his shape and size, turning himself into different animals and objects. Unless he can hide his tail, he cannot turn himself into a man. ②通过阅读,能完成相应的学习任务,提高自己的阅读能力。 ③了解《Journey to the west》中 The Monkey King这一人物的基本情况及精神。 2).情感态度价值观目标: 培养学生学会永不放弃、乐于助人的精神。通过多阅读中国传统文学名著,让学生们明白中国传统文化的博大、精深,并吸取中国传统文化中的精华。引领学生知道并了解中国传统文化在世界上的重要性。
4. 教学重点、难点分析
1. 教学重点: ①熟练掌握本部分出现的单词、词组及句子,并熟练运用。 ③理解并掌握because、unless、 so…that 、as soon as等连词的用法 ②阅读短文,获得相关的信息。通过阅读练习,来提高阅读能力。 2.教学难点: ①阅读短文,获得相关的信息的能力。 ②理解并运用所学的词汇及表达方式,在复述文章过程中适当使用连词。
5. 教学过程设计
教学具体步骤、设计意图 Step1. Warming- up and revision 1. Greet students 2.Ask the students to go over the knowledge that they have learnt.(比赛的形式) 把学生分成中三个小组,通过抢答的形式,找出答题对率最高的小组,给与点赞。 设计意图:此环节通过孙悟空三打白骨精的动画设计来复习学过的知识,激起了学生学习的热情,为下一步的课堂教学打下了基础。 Step2.Pre-reading According to the first step, Ask the students the questions: T: Do you know the monkey What’s its name in the book---Journey to the West S: Sun Wukong. 随后问学生How does the story begin? Do you want to know 自然过渡,引导学生看孙悟空出世的视频。 学生表述It’s from a stone.然后根据孙悟空的出现,通过谈及孙悟空的本领来学习object、magic、stick等单词,了解孙悟空的相关知识。 Then ask the question: What do you think we are going to read about 让学生预测将要学习的内容。(师生互动) 设计意图:再一次激起学生学习的兴趣,以这样的方式学习,可以加深单词的记忆。 Step3.While—reading (一)Skimming Task: Ask the students to look through the two questions: 1.Which book is talked about 2.Who is the main character 教师询问同学们对这两个问题的理解,然后让有能力的同学去帮助学困生。 (生生互动) Then ask the students to read the text quickly. Give them 3 minutes . 让学生回答这三个问题,并让他们指出答案的出处。 设计意图:培养了同学们的阅读能力,同时也培养同学们之间的相互帮助的习惯,让学困生能顺利进行下一步的学习。在这个环节里,运用快速阅读完成Task1任务,能够掌握略读技巧,提取关键信息,得出问题答案。 (二)Scanning Task: 通过回答以上两个问题,学生在阅读全文之后初步了解了文章大意,获取直接信息;然后再根据 Skimming中的两个问题,读文本,通过fill in the blanks的方式,带领学生剖析文章的层次,学生可以用汉语回答。通过整体阅读,初步了解文章大意并感知文章结构,了解写作顺序。 The introduction of the story The abilities of the Monkey King The influence of the story to kid 设计意图:让学生分析,培养学生提取概括和整合信息的能力。以便了解文章结构指导自己的写作。 (三)Detailed reading Task1:火眼金睛识真假 T:We know the three parts of the text: The introduction of the story、.The abilities of the Monkey King、The influence of the story to kids. Let’s read the first part. s:OK 在此环节中,让学生细读第一段 The introduction of the story,然后判断下列句子正误并改错。 1. Pupils in England could watch the movie called Monkey in 1979. (F) 2. Most children in England heard the story of Monkey before1979. (F) 3. Monkey King isn’t new to Chinese children. (T) 4.The Monkey King is the main character in the traditional Chinese book Journey to the West. (T) Task2:降妖除魔辨能力 让学生细读第二段 The abilities of the Monkey King.然后回答问题:What’s the Monkey King like 用填空的形式来回答这个问题。 利用3b Read the passage again and complete the chart about the Monkey King.来完成本环节的任务。 What he can doWhat he cannot do
设计意图:用对比阅读的形式来进行本环节的教学,调动了学生学习的兴趣,提高了学习效率。通过关键词can和can’t定位,完成表格内容。 Task3. 智勇双全闯难关 T: Sun Wukong can do many things. I like it very much. Do you like the Monkey King S:Yes. T:In China and western countries, many children like it .Why do they like him 引出第三段的阅读。读完本段后,用游戏的形式来设计问题:选图片,做任务。在孙悟空师徒和白龙马身后隐藏着不同问题,点开图片回答对应的问题,根据问题的难易程度来进行奖励。同学们一定有惊喜! Retell the text with the help of the mind map.(比赛形式) 首先,让学生把本课音频听一遍,然后以《 Journey to the West》为标题,以小猴登山的形式展开,按照台阶上所给的提示词进行。依据所上的阶梯数量,选出优胜者。 设计意图:通过听本课音频,可以纠正学生的发音。通过游戏的形式,可以激发学生学习的热情,以比赛的形式复述课文可以学习the Monkey King永不放弃的精神,达到情感教育的目的。 Step5.Summary 1.Summarize what we have learned in this class.(3c) 把课本中的任务3c进行了改编,让学生选词填空。通过强调这些词的重要性,达到了总结的目的。 2.Moral Objects. T: In our lives, we will face a lot of trouble. We should be like the Monkey King. We will never give up and keep fighting to help the weak. 设计意图:巩固学生对本课时内容的掌握,加强对学生的情感教育。 Step6.Homework 分层作业设计 Team A: Read the text smoothly and make some sentences with useful phrases, such as“because、unless、 so…that 、as soon as” and so on. Team B: Retell the text and tell a story about The Monkey King. 【设计意图】 实施分层作业设计,为各个层次的学生提出了挑战和学习的机会,让更多的学生体会到了成功的喜悦,最大限度地调动了他们的积极性,挖掘出了潜能,提高了他们的英语水平,达到了素质教育的目的。
Teaching Reflection【教学反思】: In this period,we should practice the key points more in reading and speaking activities. We must learn the new words and expressions in this unit. Students can learn a lot of conjunctions and they should remember them. In grammar we need to let students know the structure well. They can practice grammar by comparing. And students must overcome the interference of Chinese. So they need to do some exercises and make their own sentences and an article.
